I really like the sound of these strings on my violin. The same strings won’t sound the same on each violin, so it’s important to remember to try various combinations.
These are warmer than Thomastik-Infeld Dominants (a widely known standard), and are a medium-high tension string (requiring slightly more finger effort than Dominants). They take roughly 12 hours of playing to break in (slightly less than Dominants) and sound a little tinny/harsh out of the package, and need to be tuned more frequently before that.
I would replace them every 6 months (on 8-12 hrs of playing per week).

I recently had purchased an old violin that had really rusty strings. A professional violinist told me that these strings would be good. At first, I would have agreed, but one of my strings seemed to have split a little. I didn’t expect it to do that so soon.

I like these strings because they make my instrument resonate. The previous strings were good, but elicited a more subdued sound from my instrument.

My teen daughter plays violin everyday as she attends a local fine arts high school so she goes through quite a number of strings. Tried this set out and she loves them. The price point is just right for me so it gets 5 stars.

I bought this pirastro violin string set last year. I finally needed to use it today, but after replacing it for a couple days and barely played it… it popped and the loop around the ball just broke off. What should I do in this case? I’m disappointed with this product considering the price for this string set.
