I can’t address how this works with Apple products, but on my Lenovo Tab M10 Plus Android Tablet there is some weirdness.

First, it take about 30-seconds to “warm-up” in green mode. Before that happens the tablet is non-responsive to the stylus. Second, it has a hard time pulling down the “window shade” at the top of android. I have rotated the tablet to see if it is a possible dead area (it’s not).

Yes, the charger is an interesting odd design. But for people that complained about it being USB-C, you can’t complain if it states it in the description.

I have not used it for note taking or drawing, but it better then any of the “disk” style styluses I have used. There is no question that it has enough sensitivity to use with icons or highlighting text.

    Three days later…
The stylus does NOT allow me pull down the “window shade” on my tablet, but it does on my phone (OnePlus Nord N200). I have tried both in landscape and prorate orientation, neither works.

Also I have noticed that the metal top of the pen is rough and might benefit from a sanding.

After a week of use I am returning it to Amazon. The stylus does not register well on my tablet screen. I have not been able to use the drop-down notification area either in portrait or landscape modes. Further, I contacted Adonit tech support a week ago and have not heard from them.

I was really hoping this would work well (especially for note taking). Perhaps it does with Apple, but for Android its very problematic.

From tech support, “so our green light on Dash 4 may not work perfectly on it, we are awfully sorry…
When did you buy the pen? If your pen is bought recently, you may provide the receipt of your purchase and contact the platform and ask for a refund.

    sigh.

It says it’s “compatible” with all touch screens. I bought this to use on my Windows tablet PC for drawing in Photoshop. I noticed the registration point was off by about half a centimeter (It was clicking on things that I wasn’t touching). I tried to investigate a fix for this, but then I noticed I couldn’t actually drawn in Photoshop. All I could do was click menu items, and browse my PC. It seemed really janky for the price and not at all what I expected.

I double-checked the Amazon page, and there was nothing describing any compatibility issues with Tablet PCs. Then I checked their website, and this product isn’t even LISTED under compatible styluses for Windows. It’s under ANDROID. I did a bit more googling and discovered “Tablet PC” mode for this pen is “Green Pen Mode” which basically means “ONLY tap functionality, and NOTHING else.”

You needed to HIGHLIGHT the true functionality of the pen in the description of this product. I can’t even return it because I had to tear apart the packaging to get inside. Thanks for the $60 piece of trash.

Sehr gut zum Schreiben wie erwähnt am iPad und iPhone. Könnte ein paar Zentimeter kürzer sein zum einstecken in die Hemdtasche.

In my opinion it isn’t worth the money. I bought it specifically for palm rejection but that only works on the newer iPad. I find it also loses power/collaboration frequently and you have to push on the button again to get it to work.

This is only my second stylus, but it was such a good deal. I bought a used, or reboxed one. And it works so smoothly with my iPad. I was pleasantly surprised and highly recommend it to everyone!

perfect for iPad, does not scratch surface. Feels solidly built and works beautifully. Don’t buy the cheap Chinese junk, get this.

This pen is perfect for writing notes or journaling – it’s simple to charge and syncs with my iPad immediately. It has two settings so you can use it on newer iPads or older iPads, androids, and iPhones. Super cool! If you’re an artist, this does not have own pressure so would look elsewhere, but again it’s perfect for writing!

I have almost completely enjoyed this device. Works flawlessly with my android phones, the multi-mode selection is simple and straight forward, and charging does not take terribly long.
    Things I don’t like:

The tip is very hard, so slides a little too easily across glass screens. This is in contrast to the Dash 3, which had a very slightly “soft” tip that gave it a tiny amount of grip, and thus more control.

The power-on is as simple as pressing the top button, but to power off requires about a five second press that must be restarted if you happen to time it wrong. I personally would prefer a physical on-off switch, but would also be happy if the power and mode switch were just three presses, on, on, off. Five seconds isn’t very long, but I have had to awkwardly pause what I am doing to switch it off enough times for it to become bothersome.

I have never liked the little USB adapters used for charging the Dashes. They are small and easily lost, with no convenient way to store them with the stylus itself. Furthermore, with this iteration, the USB-C plug means that as of yet, the only place I can charge the stylus from is my phone, which I typically still need to be using, or am concurrently needing to charge as well. I have actually stopped using this in favor of my Dash 3 with its USB-A adapter in part because of this issue. Ironically, perhaps, I have also since lost my Dash 4 adapter. It is probably under the couch or behind my desk, but I have yet to relocate it. A better overall recharging method would be ideal, but in the mean time, we may need to include a USB-C to -A adapter until the switchover to the USB-C standard has had time to replace all of the ‘older’ existing tech that wasn’t built for it.

Aside from the first two minor issues and the third more serious issue, though, I like this product. It’s getting three stars instead of four purely because I’m going to have to purchase a replacement charging deal.

I have a 13 inch iPad air and a 15 max pro. It is my understanding that this pen should turn blue for those items. It will only work on Green. Second question, how do you turn it off?

It feels like a regular pen not like the apple pencil where it’s heavy and quite long for my hands. The Adonit Dash 4 is absolutely perfect. In fact I am using it right now on my iphone.
