I was concerned about the fans and cooling as some of the reviews said that it was an issue. After two weeks of use, I can tell you the fans and liquid cooling work great, no issues. I mostly play Call of Duty, and this Alienware R14 performs beautifully.
This is my first AMD and I noticed that it does run slightly warmer than Intel. No big deal really, liquid cooling works great and this thing is super-fast. The 3080 RTX is an awesome graphics card and a HUGE upgrade from the latest card installed in my old computer, the 2080 RTX.
The Alienware software for fan control and overclocking is easy to figure out.
The fans are fine, no need to replace them. Liquid cooling works well cooling the CPU.
Just use it for gaming, editing, and streaming. No worries
It comes in a box with heavy duty foam and the case is covered in a plastic protective film.
Arrived on time in perfect condition.
I would recommend this computer. It’s clean and built well. The $1845.14 price is decent.
Excellent value.

2 months of ownership at this point (3080 version). Overall, this is a beautiful and powerful gaming PC, truly looking like a piece of alien technology on my desk. I bought it “used” via Amazon Warehouse for a big discount: aside from not arriving in the original box, no signs of wear. The warranty had 7 months left.
Just finished a playthrough of Baldur’s Gate 3 on max settings at 4k resolution (FPS capped at 60 due to monitor restrictions). Zero problems, and the GPU temperature rarely rose above 65 C. The highest temperature I’ve seen is 75 C, and that was with GPU utilization near 100%.
I’ve tried a bit of VR via a wired connection to a Meta Quest 2 with decent results. Google Earth is stunning. No Man’s Sky has to be played at minimum settings due to severe stuttering, thought NMS VR is a notorious system hog. Performance was improved when I minimized the Steam VR’s screen mirror displayed on the monitor.
There is a known problem with sleep mode with Alienware on Windows 11. While sleeping the fans frequently cycle on/off, and this lead to an occasional blue screen (“Windows failed to load”), requiring a restart. Turning off sleep mode and using Hibernate instead eliminated this problem 95%. Startup following hibernate requires just a few seconds to load.
Overall, thumbs up. Will update review if new problems emerge.

System held up well during its first year. A few minor hardware bugs and some HDR software issues that were eventually resolved with software and firmware updates. While it does come with its fair share of Dell bloatware, the Alienware Command Center and support assist are decent, user-friendly options to keep your drivers and software up to date which is particularly helpful for the less tech-savvy. I was having BSOD issues and worked through troubleshooting with tech support and right up until I was about to ship it back for repair, updates came through and I haven’t had those issues since. However, merely days after my warranty expired, my GPU started behaving poorly. Under normal load, the PC is acceptable in terms of noise, but after any sort of load that causes the GPU fans to spin up (such as gaming) the 2nd of the two GPU fans begin a pattern of going from 0 RPM to 1500-2000+ before settling back down to 0. The other GPU fan stays operating at a few hundred RPM but the 2nd fan throttles up and down every few seconds. The volume of this intolerable and can be heard very clearly from other rooms and as white noise in calls. With the warranty now expired and the history of difficult Dell support historically, I think I just got suckered for a build that in the end was too good to be reliable and can’t recommend Dell or Alienware products to anyone looking for longevity in their products or ease of service.

Amazing in its dept of design and flexablity of technology. A power house to enslave the masses with liquid cool Ai for the mind. The LG 34″ Ultra Gear with dazzling speed and awsome gaming response makes palatible eye candy pop on the screen before the next foe stills your dreams. Yes the senses are never satisfied as they real from a never ending story of human tragedy. You want to look away amazed from the near instantaneous boot up to internet access, and then your hooked again on meaningless hours of play. Don’t blink, you might lose it all, in a cascade of color and combat gaming second to none, explore the galaxies of your minds eye and realize this Tower of Babble is a reflections of humanity speaking with a two edged sword. You are the victor and the loser as your mind is hooked on the sweeties eye candy on the planet while defending the realm. Pedal to the metal over clocking your Alien R14 liquid cool and your horizons seem limitless until the power goes out again. Happy trails!

I’ve had this thing for a few months now. I was skeptical considering I’ve built my own PC’s for the last decade. But I recently moved states and took advantage of the 0 interest 12-month payment plan to make things easier.
Currently have it hooked up to a 42” LG C2 4K 120hz G-Sync TV. So far this system has crushed everything I’ve thrown at it without issue. Frame rates are reasonably high for everything being maxed out with Ray Tracing on in 4k.
Cyberpunk 2077 runs at an average of 68 FPS
Red Dead Redemption 2 is around 75 on average.
Resident Evil 4 Remake, maxed, is over 100 FPS.
The thing performs solid and hasn’t given me much trouble beyond the Alienware software wanting to slow things down.
My one and only gripe is that the liquid cooling system is a single fan. Running a Ryzen 9 5900 for hours with everything maxed puts the temps in the high 80’s C, as expected with this silly mistake.
No reason not to run a dual fan to this kind of CPU to truly give the hardware longevity.
But overall, for plug-and-play, this thing is crushing it pretty well. If I had the full $2400 lying around, I definitely still would have built my own computer though.
