I was looking for a nice USB-C to HDMI device that will fit comfortably on my Quest 3, as they now allow HDMI input for any HDMI devices. I decided to test it out on my PC to Q3 and I have to say, I was excited to have it pop up right away on my device.
At first when I pulled it out of the bag I was concerned that it was only a USB-A device because the connector is so well fit that it appears to be a solid piece. It’s a snug fit, but it slides right out to reveal a USB-C plug.
I did test it in the sense of plugging in a monitor to my PC and it is only one-way, so this is a CAPTURE device, not a display device adapter, so it can be used on your PC as a capture card, but not used to push video out from your system.
I put the capture ability to the test on my PC by connecting the USB-C into my system and running a HDMI to my Switch using free capture software (not going to name drop), I was able to pull it up crystal clear with audio just using this small device! Review the video and it’ll show what it pulls up as, and pulled up the same name in my Q3 headset as well.
For such a small device this does a lot and I’m highly impressed, especially for the cost over high end capture cards. Now I haven’t tested it to the extreme of high end streaming or running an XBOX or PS5 against it, but still I’m happy with this and recommend for anyone looking to do simple capture of HDMI input, especially for Quest 3 devices

This review is for the Eluteng Video Capture Card. This was very easy to install, all I needed to do was attach it to my laptop and it was recognized by Windows 10. No drivers were needed. I use OBS Studio and it was easy to setup there.
The capture card is lightweight but not cheap feeling. The braided cable should prevent damage to the wire. It has both USB-C and USB-A connectors so compatibility isn’t a problem. It does not come with any directions so its best to know how to use a video capture card before you buy one.

I recently came across a box of home movies on VHS that were taken 30 years ago. I wanted to convert them to digital. I researched different ways to do this. I ended up choosing a way encouraged by someone writing the directions on how to do this by using a video capture card, an RCA to HDMI adapter and a free software program called OBS. This person writing the directions was very confident in this method and also advocated it being so much cheaper than other ways. This video capture device was the one I chose and I followed the directions precisely step-by-step. I never succeeded in seeing the VHS home movie come through on the OBS software program. In following the directions I became aware that perhaps if you knew what you were doing this method might work but the author left out precise steps to make this happen. It was a very frustrating and disappointing experience and very time-consuming to end up with no successful results. I am leaving a 3-star rating and do not feel qualified to leave any rating as I do not know if the video capture device had anything to do with the negative outcome or was it simply because the directions I followed were inadequate? This may very well work as advertised. The only thing I can say for sure is I would not suggest someone get this device without knowing how to make it work. I tried for several days and many hours to discover how to make this work. I was not able to do so. I have no knowledge how to use this device properly and was not able to figure out the directions which I felt should have been directed at people with no knowledge of this. I feel the directions are geared towards people that have at least some knowledge and experience using this device.

I recently tried out the ELUTENG Video Capture Card, and I’ve been pretty impressed with how well it performs, especially for such a compact and affordable device. I’ve been using it with my Quest 3, connecting through an HDMI cable for passthrough, and it has worked flawlessly.
I was a bit skeptical at first, especially after watching some videos using with Quest 3 where people mentioned latency issues and low FPS with competing video capture cards but happy to say I have not experienced any of those problems. Whether I’m using it on my Windows setup or my Mac, I’m getting maximum resolution on my Quest 3 at 60Hz, which is exactly what I was hoping for.
The build quality is another highlight. The aluminum housing feels solid and durable, and the compact size makes it easy to toss in a bag if you’re on the go. The nylon braided cable is a nice touch too—it feels sturdy and gives me confidence that it won’t wear out anytime soon.
One thing I appreciate about this capture card is the versatility. It comes with an adapter that lets you switch between USB-A and USB-C, so it’s compatible with a wide range of devices. I’ve mostly been using it with my laptop, but it’s nice to know I could easily switch to a tablet or smartphone if needed.
Overall, I’m really pleased with this capture card. It’s compact, well-built, and performs exactly as advertised. If you need a reliable capture card for gaming, streaming, or even recording, this is a solid choice.
