It’s very compact, uses a single USB connector for power and data, and works out of the box in Win10. Note that it does say 1.6A required for current, so may require USB 3. I ran it with a refurbished Lenovo laptop with no issues. Ordering another. Please check ‘helpful’ if this helped, thanks!

I have had this model LG DVD / CD writer for about 7 years. I’ve used it a lot, and it has worked flawlessly until recently. Maybe a couple of years ago it started refusing to stay closed, so I’ve been using blue painter’s tape each time I put a CD into it. This year I have a lot of CDs I want to import from my large collection, so I decided to replace it with something easier to use. I tried another brand, which initially worked, then started acting out in multiple ways and none of the suggested remedies worked. I returned it, and decided the LG had treated me well for so long, I’d just get the same one again. My new LG drive has been working great. I’m hoping the problem with my former one’s drawer popping open doesn’t appear one this one, or at least not for another good long while, because everything else about this drive is seamless. I’ve used it both with a MacBook Air and with my current 2019 MacBook Pro.
