It was really good when it worked, but it stopped working in 13 months. I would expect this lasted a lot longer considering its price. Now I end with having a really expensive piece of plastic. Really disappointed

We have tried several routers and extender combinations and none of them covered our house and let us roam without having to reconnect. And they would just stop working for no reason. I’ve had this system in for a week and it has been flawless. My family doesn’t yell at me every day any more. It is REALLY expensive, but seems well worth it. I have to pay for Web Filtering. But it is much better than anything else I have used, so also worth it.

Love this mesh network! I upgraded from an older Orbi model and couldn’t be more happy with the speed and coverage. I now match my 1TB internet service speed.

    Here’s my feedback
I waited for quite some time before finally taking the plunge on something this expensive. I should have trusted my gut and done it sooner but that’s what happens when you spend too much time reading reviews.
    The good-
Setup took about 10 minutes including the firmware updates so I can’t understand the complaints.
Coverage in my house has never been remotely close to this no matter how good my nighthawk routers are.
Speedtest through the Orbi app have me getting 1400 down in every room of the 3 story house. When I Speedtest through my devices to Speedtest.net then I’m getting anywhere from 600-1000 down. Now before Orbi I was getting 200-300 down on my gigabit service so the Orbi definitely improved everything.
We’ve tested running 20+ devices/ streaming/ fire stick/Xbox at the same time and haven’t seen any lag so we’re thrilled at the outcome.
My only dislike is that I have to buy a separate circle device to have parental care. I purchased the Circle home device and works like a charm.

In summary- it’s better than I expected and I would have paid more knowing what I know now.

This system worked well for the first 3 weeks it was setup, and then suddenly with no change to settings or physical configuration, satellite speeds were extremely slow (<1 MBPS) no matter how close to the satellite I got my device or how close the satellite was to the main router. Main router speeds always fantastic. Internet searches full of tons of stories of same thing happening to them without any good resolution. I suspect those having great experience with this system have a small enough home they just always stay connected to the main router.

On the plus side, the Orbi app is great! Made setup easy, and the diagnostic tools like signal strength scanning were really nice.

In denver weve been begging for fiber connections and compounded with intermittent issues with our ISP, we decided to upgrade our network. The Orbi’s were the first to make our wifi robust. Orbi’s are unbelievable! We no longer have issues wirh cameras dropping, connectivity dropping from devices on our network cause Orbi has like 100 device capability. Connecting our 30 devices took maybe 10 min, it was ridiculously easy. However, the setup could be a struggle for a novice IT. My husband was 10yrs plus in helpdesk and he said there was a minir hiccup during setup with the existing wifi not wanting to let go for the Orbi setup but he got it worked out without even a complaint to me; so not a big issue. Then in addition to the Orbi’s we got the recommended Netgear Nighthawk modem. These together have made us rethink adding brand new wiring throughout our 60s home cause this pairing does it all wirelessly.
Long review short, you get what you pay for and the Orbi’s are 100% worth every penny!

I am almost angry at how good this mesh system is. I have a 3500 sq ft house which is about 80 ft deep, 40 ft wide, and has two stories and an unfinished basement. I previously had three (3!) of the Linksys WRT3200ACM, loaded with DD-WRT aftermarket firmware. I spent two years trying to configure those things to work as a mesh-like system and it was horrible. Devices constantly losing connection, poor coverage, even with three beefcake routers, and phones couldn’t roam around the house. I had to manually turn off/on WiFi when I moved around the house. I have about 40 devices in my house, 30 or so of which are IoT home automation devices. The house is 3500 sq ft but I also have outdoor cameras and sensors and door sensors in the unfinished basement, so I really needed a lot of coverage. When I bought the Orbi 6 system with 2 satellites, I plugged it in thinking I would have all kinds of issues and I would have to spend a year optimizing it and configuring it. Not so. It really, honestly, just worked. I’m not a WiFi expert but I’m not a novice either, and I had the spent the past two years reading and learning more about WiFi to fix my DD-WRT config. But the Orbi doesn’t even give you more than a handful of screen for configuration. Many people will probably see that as a downside, and I did initially, but after a few days, I realized it just worked. I didn’t need to configure anything. I was almost angry because I thought maybe there was something special about my house and my devices that made WiFi challenging. Nope. The Orbi is just a superior product. I only gave it 4 stars because I still think there’s some configuration options that are missing, and I’m annoyed that the configuration app keeps trying to upsell me with protection plans and cyber options. But, in the end, this is a superior router. All my devices connect easy, stay connected, and I can roam around the house with my phone, with maybe a 1-second switchover delay when I go from one end of the house to another. I get great speeds, and and even cheapo iot devices that had trouble pairing and connecting on my other routers connect up almost immediately to the Orbi. I don’t understand it, and I’m still angry I spent two years trying to use something else, but this product knocked it out of the park.
