I bought this router out of necessity when I moved my desktop to another level of my home and didn’t want to snake an ethernet cable all around my walls. And, for the most part, it’s doing a very good job.
Pro: The range is great. I have no problem getting a good (sometimes even excellent) signal in the farthest reaches of my home.
Pro: I connect reliably at 270 and 300 Mb/s. No complaints there.
Con: I am getting some dropped connections. It doesn’t happen frequently at all. But it is somewhat annoying. Once the connection drops for the first time though, I have to restart the router or the drops will start happening more frequently. Minor nuisance.
Con: The web-based admin interface doesn’t always update the router when you click save changes. More often than not I have to re-apply several times until the router reboots and the changes are set. Also, I can’t seem to update the firmware through the web interface. It finds the updated firmware file and downloads it just fine. But, when I attempt to do the update, the file it had chosen and downloaded is always incompatible with the router. Perhaps the next firmware release will work better.
Pro and con: The USB port for storage. It’s definitely a nice thing to have. However, the speed at which you write to, and even read from, whatever is connected is horribly slow. I now use the same external drive that I had connected to my desktop. Attached to the desktop I could write in the 20-30 MB/sec range. While connected to the router, that’s down to 1-2 MB/sec. Even with the added overhead of transmitting data through secure wireless… there’s no excuse for a 90% performace drop. Just as another point of reference, I have a networked external drive connected to one of the gig ports that writes around 3-5 MB/sec, three times the performance of the USB port.
Con: The networked external drive I mentioned above… The router will, for some reason, kick it off of the network after a random amount of time. I never had this problem with the LinkSys G router I was using before, so I have to assume it’s the Belkin. The network drive always shows up just fine when I bring the network online, but, if I want to use the drive a few hours later, the network path is suddenly not available. Odd.
Some of the cons are probably very fixable through firmware updates. Now, if only I could get that to work…
So… bottom line… I do very much like this router. Even in spite of the occasional dropped connection and the external network drive issues. It hasn’t given me any problems I would consider “major”. But, there’s still definitely room for improvement.

I am extremely pleased with this product! I have been using it for about a month now and have no complaints about the quality of this router.
Range/Quality:
I own a 3600sq ft home with half of it being a basement. I have the unit installed upstairs and am able to recieve a “Very Good” signal or better in all parts of the house, including the basement. I do play MMORPG’s and it does not affect the quality of my gaming. In fact I think the games run better than with my wired router.
What it comes with:
The router comes with everything you need, ac adapter, color coded lan cord, quick start guide and an instruction manual that is on the installation CD. The manual is very basic, and if you have never hooked up a router before it is very easy to follow. (On a side note, I just used my exsisting wires and plug in to save moving my desk around. But if you are a novice you can use the colored wire to make it easier.)
Con:
Making the router secure is a little tricky. The problem is the manual, and the support on the website only offer basic assistance, nothing about the steps needed to make your connection secure. I am pretty computer savey, and usually have no issues working my way through hangups. However, there were several steps that I would never in my life have been able to figure out on my own to make the router secure. Maybe it was me, but I couldn’t even find a blog that went over it. Everything would work fine until I changed it to be secure, then it would quit recieving the internet signal. I feel that they should have something on their website or in the manual, step by step to help you through it. At any rate, I did call the customer service line on a Saturday, and I reached a very helpful representative that knew exactly what the issue was. She patiently walked me through the steps. The call took less than 5 minutes! So I have to give them points for that! It has worked like a dream ever since!
Over all, I highly recommend this router to anyone! I have no regrets with the purchase.
