I bought this last year at the beginning of the school year. As I am a teacher, I needed a dependable personal printer for on the go copies. I am glad that I never wrote a review until now. This is one of the best and most dependable printers I have ever used. It is fast and reliable. I have had no trouble out of it. I was familiar with it because the schools system I worked with 2 years ago provided each teacher with their own printer. This was the brand and model used. It worked like clockwork. Also, if you purchase the larger (XL) ink cartridge, it lasted me through half of the year, even with constant printing. I had to buy one extra cartridge which lasted me into the following school year. I can’t say enough about how satisfied I am with this printer. And this one was a renewed one and it still works like a charm. Wonderful!

Unlike most of the printers I see in the stores, this one is a solid, substantial unit that does an excellent job. Based on professional reviews when this printer was released, this printer sold for more than $600 when new, so HP designed it to be a long-lasting workhorse. I have owned a refurbished one of these printers for six years and bought this second refurbished unit as more of a backup to the one that has performed flawlessly for six years. The print quality is excellent; the duplexing feature works great; and the bypass tray is well designed. The toner lasts a long time and the unit never jambs. It’s a great printer!!

I’ve been using (and abusing) HP 400 series printers for many years – great printers, and solid home-office workhorses performing well beyond their intended use. That said, use them to excess (and certainly I do) parts do eventually wear, and some are parts are hard to souce and no always easy to replace/install. New units can still be found, but are getting scarce (and expensive!) – these refreshed units are a godsend! This latest one arrived super fast, in practically like-new cosmetic condition, super clean, well protected, and most importantly functions flawlessly. They even included a power cord, a USB cable, and a toner cartridge! Fantastic experience with a great seller – thanks!

We now have six of these in our office and they are in my opinion the best printer HP has ever made. They never jam, the toner lasts a long time and generic toner cartridges are plentiful and inexpensive on Amazon. I think HP stopped making these because they were too good if you know what I mean. The “renewed” printer I received looked and works like a new one. If you need a printer buy one of these. Works with any OS including windows 11.

This is a great printer. It’s fast and has a small footprint. Being renewed, it has a small scratch, which doesn’t bother me at all. The duplexer eats paper and simply is not going to be reliable. So, do not plan on a duplex printer as advertised. The toner cartridge is generic (possibly generic for many printer types), and mine was 75% full, not new. I bought an HP 80A cartridge, and it was a different plastic shape that fit better, and prints both darker, and with lighter/cleaner greys. Called Amazon and was told I could only return it or exchange, no middle ground. So, it’s a nice model but not as advertised.
