I liked that it came with an updated bios so I could use the latest Intel CPU. It works great, haven’t had any issues besides the USB 3.1 port not working properly. Other than that it’s a great motherboard.

I have lost count on the number of ASUS motherboards I have purchased through the years. Not once have I ever been disappointed or had buyers remorse. This Z790-P is no exception. I just completed an install for my primary DAW PC for my studio and this board was a perfect fit for the bill. The system booted right up and recognized all of my hardware. Windows 11 installed without a single glitch and I was up and running in no time. The layout of the board is well thought out and fit nicely in my 4U rack enclosure. The installation manual was well written and explained all of the necessary connections making the install very easy. I have had no driver issues and my DAW software and audio applications all reloaded beautifully. I also encountered no issues with the BIOS and found it to be intuitive to navigate and was consistent with other ASUS boards. For reference I used an Intel i9 processor (LGA1700) and 32 GB Corsair DDR5 memory. I am not an over-clocker and I did not purchase this board for gaming. I opted to use the onboard video which will serve my needs quite well. This is another successful ASUS PC build and as long as they keep making quality motherboards I will continue to keep using them exclusively for all of my future PC projects.

This mobo looks great and has tons of next gen features such as ddr5 support and 13th series cpus. It works great and easy to install. In my opinion one of the best beginner boards out there. Highly recommend, easy 10/10.

Many reasons to buy this motherboard as it supports ddr5 memory plus 12th and 13th gen intel processor

The most important takeaway: This board worked right out of the box and booted up with no problems. The BIOS updated with no issues.
Criticisms:
1. There are no boot/diagnostic LEDs on the motherboard. This is a huge inconvenience when you’re doing a new system build or are trying to diagnose a faulty component in the future. My previous ASUS Z390 Prime mobo (which was the same cost as the ZZ90 here) had these LEDs.
2. There are fewer 4 pin fan connectors and USB connectors on the bottom and side of the mobo. Once again, my previous ASUS Z390 has an abundance of connectors.
3. This is a minor aesthetic issue. When I see ATX, I assume it’s a standard-size board dimension. Now this may be an issue with my NZXT H6 flow case, but this mobo did not extend all the way to the last set of standoffs in the board. So some of the standoffs are still visible. Again, may be an issue with my case, but this board seems a little shorter than my previous ASUS Prime Z390.
4. I would have liked to see some subtle LED lights on the mobo. The reason I went with this board is because it had a cleaner design. I didn’t want the higher end ASUS mobos because they look like a 10 year old kid designed them (they look bad).

It suddenly stopped working after 10 month
sent to ASUS for repair, they refused to repair by warranty because it’s got damage in the CPU socket which doesn’t make sense. I couldn’t see anything at the mark in the photo they sent.
how can there be a physical damage to the CPU socket when I never removed CPU until the motherboard stopped working? and they ask me to prove the damage is from the delivery if not me?
I think they just make any excuses to refuse to repair by warranty.
plus, the ASUS customer service is EXTREMELY slow. and not very communicative. I had to wait for a long time to use my computer again.
I know it’s not the seller’s fault. but too much headache with the motherboard. No ASUS again.
