The air conditioner lasted three months before it started leaking. We tried everything B&D recommended even continuous draining without it fixing the problem. We started the warranty claim and were told on the phone that after we ship the A/C back (with a prepaid return label, but without a proper box), that it would be 5 to 10 business days and they would ship a new one out. When we received the shipping label (three days later than the initial claim made), the email said it would take two to three weeks after they received the broken A/C and they’d ship a new one out. That was nearly three months ago. I have called customer service time and time again and they keep saying they are escalating it to a manager but nothing happens. I asked for the manager to call me back and they haven’t called me back. It’s kind of ridiculous to pay all this money for something and it breaks three months in and then you can’t get it replaced because Black and Decker is not helpful and won’t provide any information. It doesn’t take three months to slap a shipping label on a box and send it out. I wouldn’t recommend this product at all.

Just got it today and set up in my office. Super easy setup and cooled the room down from 90 degrees to 70 in less than 5 minutes. It’s a little noisy but I think if I move it farther from my desk it’ll be okay.

My husband is an IT geek. He also has a YouTube channel. His office is on the smaller side with a lot of technology equipment in it. Our central air could not keep his office cool enough. He was telling me that if temperatures stay too warm blah, blah, blah (sorry, I don’t understand most of his technology speak), that it can damage the equipment.
So, for a combined birthday and Father’s Day gift, his parents and I got him this. It has been a game changer. He absolutely loves it. He has the setting at 70° and says his office is much more comfortable. I was worried (even with the machine not being too loud) that it may be heard when he is live streaming or recording. I asked and he said between the low noise of the machine and his microphone filter it is not heard by others. Since the machine pretty much sits behind his chair, I was surprised but very pleased. Score!!

Does the job effectively in my Main Bedroom of 400 sq ft. and it seems effortless. The only caveats I have is that it is a bit louder then I’d like and the unit shuts off when it reaches temperature vs the fan running all the time to circulate air.

I recently got new casement windows upstairs — the kind that crank out — replacing traditional double-hung windows. Our old window air conditioner no longer fit, so a portable version seemed like the next best thing. I wasn’t sure it would cool as well, but this unit really works, and quickly. It’s noisy as heck, which is a little annoying at night, but the cool temps are worth it. So far I’d say it’s a decent value for the price.

The slot for your windows is too narrow on the top or bottom leading to the ring for the tube to rest on it. can make fitting the unit to a window a MacGyver effort at best.

The conditioned air comes out at around 52 degrees F and the fans has a lot of push helping to spread the cold air. The unit is a little loud at 42 decibels but that is only 3 decibels more than my standard window unit operates at. The included window kit worked well and provides everything you need to get a good window seal. Finally this unit has nearly separated chambers so converting it to a dual hose system is easy enough using some of the included window seal kit and some metal ducting tape, the conversion process was complete within 15 minutes.

I purchased this ac 3 mo ago and waited to write a review until I used it. I’ve used it everyday, in the lowest temp of 61 only turning it off when I’m gone during the day. I have this in my bedroom. It cools very quickly and maintains the temp. The dehumidifier function is great as well. The remote and unit are both user friendly. Cleaning the filter is easy as well, I recommend doing this or at least checking it max every two weeks with constant use as it’s a small filter. Draining the water is as well very easy. I drain it when I clean the filter even tho there’s not much to drain. The window panel and accordion hose seal tightly and allows moving the unit easy.
My ONLY complaint is the noise. It wasn’t so bad when I first started using it, but it’s gotten louder. It’s not annoyingly loud however, it’s louder than I expected. I have it on carpet and currently building a sort of platform to put it in to see if that helps. I’ll update my review then.
Overall- I’d purchase again.
