This was purchase to replace a 10 year old 18000 BTU Friedrich that stopped working. It was a wall mount unit. I checked with LG before I bought it if wall mounting would void the warranty, they said no. So I mounted it in the wall and made sure the side vent were clear. It works fantastic and very quiet. Sometimes I’m not sure it’s on it’s so quiet and the phone app is great too.

Great AC. Bought GE 14000 before. Returned to home depot. Sensor didn’t work. AC was running none stop. This one works perfect. Quiet and powerful. Will see the bill at the end of the month. Recommended.

Knocked a star off because the last one I bought only lasted 3 years till it turned to a rust bucket, the lower coils rotted out, and the fan went out and shut down completely. These are designed to hold water in the pan which the fan uses to splash the coils for more cooling efficiency, however im confident that kills the life of the machine so much faster. I drilled couple holes in this pan to keep water drained and can’t notice a lack of cooling efficiency from the last one. I’d recommend drilling the holes just look where you’re drilling and don’t hit the copper lines.

The unit cools just fine and appears to be high quality based on the first few days of use. But the installation and mounting equipment that come with the unit are very poor quality. The AC ships as one unit, that you then need to disassemble so you attach the mounting hardware. I was unable to disassemble the AC without damaging the heat exchanger fins. Also, some of the mounting hardware is metal, but the parts that attach the side curtains are cheap plastic junk and the manufacturing tolerances were off so they didn’t fit in well. The unit also does not come with enough foam padding to properly seal the unit. If you’re going to mount the unit on the ground floor in a safe place where you can skip the proper mounting hardware then I think this is a fine unit. But I hope for the next iteration LG improves the setup design and hardware.

I really like this A/C. Its NOT the quietest. That goes to Midea but it does move air & the rooms get cooled quickly. Now, the issue comes..

When i installed this A/C, it put the bracket (That does not come with it) tilted so that the water could go towards the back. All three of them but one day in the morning, I turned it on for 20 minutes and when I looked at my floor, i see a leak. Water was on the floor! Water came from the front and It was about 5 feet long and 2 feet wide of water. Thankfully i was there to stop it but thats not the point. How about if i wasn’t there? I turned the A/C on through the app 40 minutes before i got home? Then what? It would have ruined electronics. furniture etc.

As much as I love these A/C’s, They will be returned. I cannot risk my belongings like this.
