I bought for my travel needs to use during hotel stays. I don’t really trust the cleanliness of hotel coffee or coffee brewer in room so I’d rather use my own. Tested this out and it’s exactly what I was looking for. I like that it’s small, probably get like 6 oz water for coffee, but it boils fast, the cord is located at the bottom. You have to twist the bottom portion off to expose the cord. Small enough for travel and easy to clean.

This little kettle was ideal for our trip over Father’s Day weekend. We stayed in a B&B that didn’t have coffee or tea or anything like that in the room, and even in regular hotels, the small coffee pot is usually the only thing in the room for heating water. Since I don’t like coffee, I have to run several batches of plain water through those little coffee pots to get the coffee taste cleaned out before I can heat water for my tea or hot cocoa. With this handy portable water kettle, I can have my tea with a lot less work (and I know where it’s been and what’s been in it – unlike those hotel coffee pots!).

The base can be removed to access the power cord. There are markings showing to turn counter-clockwise to open and clockwise to close. The first time I tried to remove the base, it was almost impossible. I struggled with it for quite a while before it finally turned. After that I had no problems getting the base off. The power cord is short – only 15 inches long, so plan to take a small extension cord along or end up heating your water with the kettle sitting on the floor to reach the outlet. I understand why they included such a short cord – so it would fit in the space at the bottom of the kettle – but I took off a star for that since it makes it inconvenient to find a place to plug it in with such a short cord.

The first time I tested the unit, the water heated to 212 degrees within 6 minutes. The second time, it heated faster, but it was still warm from the first test. I noticed that when it reaches 209 degrees, it seems to stay there for a couple of minutes while it did some clicking/popping, but then it increased to 210, 211, 212 within a few seconds.

Be sure to pull up the silicone vent top when you turn on the kettle. Water to the max line on the inside is right at 1 ½ cups.

Time will tell how well it holds up and how longs it lasts, but at this point, I’m pleased with the kettle and look forward to using it on all our trips.

Not gonna lie, at first I thought, “Wow! A portable kettle! I can make tea or coffee anywhere, even in the middle of nowhere!” I should have known that this is NOT battery-operated (such devices exist but are awfully expensive with a massive battery). It’s just a compact electric kettle, which can be a travel kettle if you have the habit of carrying your kettle around. It’s definitely cleaner than any hotel kettle out there (seriously, never use those!). It can be used for camping, but only if you’re glamping, have access to an outlet, or carry one of those big batteries/generators along.

The device is compact and therefore portable, and looks good design-wise. The inside is fully stainless steel, even the cap. While the rim is plastic, it doesn’t touch the water because it is separated by a gasket of silicone. The steam plug is also silicone, which is both safe for the water and for touching when it is hot.

I understand the limitations of making a device really compact yet performing. Therefore, I understand that to make the cable neatly fit in a bottom compartment, it has to be really short. This could be okay in general, but you might need an adequate, highly-rated extension, depending on your kitchen outlets.

Second, capacity: it can fit only a cup of water, nothing more. You can make soup, but it has to be one of those instant single-cup ones.

Third, it takes some time to boil that cup of water—7:30 minutes in my test (check video). You could put it on and do your business and come back, but better time it because, while there is an auto shutdown function, there is no beeping to let you know it is done, which is important (and easy to implement) in my opinion. Adding to that, it curiously took 2 full minutes at the end to jump from 209°F to 212°F, the boiling point.

In spite of the few hiccups, the device works as intended. Depending on your use for it, it might come in handy in different scenarios (it comes with 4 different temperature presets). I think it could be better, but it gets away with a good score nonetheless.

This is a great little electric kettle. It heats water quickly to any of a variety of temperatures. It is quiet and quick. There is no odor from it even with the first use. The outside stays cool enough to touch so that you can pour the hot water from it to your cup. The lid as well, stays cool enough to touch so you can safely remove it on the go. It is a little kettle though, so you are only getting a regular cup’s worth of hot water (a disappointment for someone like me who prefers big mugs to standard cups). But, I am excited to use this in the fall when the weather turns and I am busy on the go with outside events. Great little product!

I travel a lot and it’s always nice to have a kettle in the room to make some matcha or ramen noodles. Also I get sick a lot so this helps so much to make ginger lime tea on the go and you can even just use it as the mug as well if you don’t have a cup, it works great and the water heats up fast

Great product/kettle. At first I was confused because I couldn’t find the power cord. But it was nicely tucked underneath the kettle. I like this kettle a lot. Very portable for me.
