Robert M. Brower –
The side straps on one of these was set too high. One the very first step the nails popped out of their tracks. I used cable ties to pull on the two height straps to resolve. Overall these appear well suited for aeration.

This soil aerator shoes concept is an interesting idea. Fitting the aerator shoes to the feet not too hard with Velcro straps. After putting it on, I start to walk on my lawn. The lawn is pre-watered the night before. Most of the soil is still wet and some already semi dried out from the morning sun. Walking with the aerator shoes is like walking on the beach sand. When step on the wet soil, the nails on the bottom of the shoes sink into the soil effortlessly. But when trying to lift the feet, the soil will grab on to the nails and it feels like trying to get your feet out of mud. It requires some effort. After walking with the aerator shoes for about 16 minutes, it gives me a good workout with heart pounding. I also notice if the soil is not completely wet, it is hard to sink the nails completely into the soil and I weight about 165 lb. With dry soil the nails will not penetrate into the ground.
After using the shoes, the spring design helps to remove the soil and other debris from the bottom of the shoes. I only lightly rinse the base with the water and the shoes are clean enough for storage.

Our very compacted yard benefited! Great to break up the soil and easy to use.

Decided to try these lawn aerator shoes to help improve my yard without investing in expensive equipment. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the shoes themselves operate as expected by driving spikes into the soil as you walk. The heavy-duty springs return the spikes to position with each step, making the process smoother. As someone who doesn’t have a lot of upper body strength, this was a convenient way to aerate my lawn. However, being around 100 pounds, I found I had to put in extra effort by standing on one foot and pressing down hard. They work better for heavier individuals who can just walk normally. Also, they’re recommended for flat lawns, so if you have any inclines, consider using a walking stick for balance. Cleanup is simple with a water hose, which is a nice bonus.

The size of this aerator was a good fit for my size 13 shoe. The spikes are pretty sharp so be careful when you put them on the CORRECT way. The spring action is nice to keep the spikes clean

I wanted to use this when I walk around the yard to help with aeration. These were too uncomfortable and awkward to use that I have only used it twice. I have a hand held spike aerator that I prefer over these. You have to walk a certain way and be very careful of your help when using these. Shoes are okay and decently built, but Aerator shoes are just not for me.

I’ve used these just once so far on a lawn thats not really established so it’s not much of a lawn…lol. Took a few miniutes to figure out how to properly strap them on. But after that they seem to stay on fairly well. As with all of them, takes a little time to get use to walking in them. Cleaning them in general can be a bit cumbersome but with these the springs really made a significant difference in cleaning them and didn’t hamper the effectiveness. I was a bit surprised.

These lawn aerating shoes work pretty well. My bf tried these out before I did and let’s just say he didn’t enjoy them so much.
When I went to put them on he said be careful. I asked him why and he told me he got stuck and fell flat on his face. I asked him if he was trying to run with them on, and he said no but the guilty look on his face said otherwise. 😊
So I wore them and walked up and down our front yard. These definitely work good at aerating the lawn, strengthening ankles, and building up calf muscles.
It is easy to start walking too fast and get stuck. If you don’t take your time you will more than likely face plant. Just take your time with these and you will be fine
