Customer service contacted me after the below review and sent me a new heater completely free of charge. Wow!!
Received Wednesday, used in patio for cooler nights and it worked to warm the area around 2 of the chairs, which is much better than the oscillating one I also purchased. Does turn off when tipped completely over. Remote is the only way to turn it on, so was worried about losing it. I have a grandson who loves remotes.
Today, Saturday, my son accidentally knocked it over fairly gently and it broke inside. Now it smokes and will be going in the trash. Waste of money, can’t recommend for an outside heater if you have any risk of it knocking or blowing over. I’d return it but I already threw away the 3 (!) Large boxes it came in.

I was really looking forward to trying it out. When item arrived I opened immediately, however while I was unboxing it, I noticed it was broken. Never even got to turn it on.

We haven’t lost the remote but you can’t use it without it. It’s a great heater. It will make it pleasant if down to about 50F. We keep it in our back patio and huddle around a bit when it’s in the 40s. When on high it’s cool enough to touch the back. Just save the box, throw it in the garage. It’s easy to store. We run ours everyday between Thanksgiving to March-April. It’s reliable. I got one for my friend who lives in a travel trailer. He says it heats the main area up to 70 or 80 depending on the outside temp. Not the cheapest but I like it enough that it was worth it.

It worked for 5 Minutes, than the heating element busted in two pieces. Since I bought it to prepare for the cold here in Florida, I through the box away. It cost me $11.70 to ship it back.
So, East Oak are you going to refund me the shipping?
12/21/23:East Oak has refunded the shipping cost to me 100%, and in good will has shipped me a brand new heater at no cost. I applaud the excellent customer service, and standing behand their product.

Nice heater as far as heat output. Easy to use remote but keep it handy. My problem is that the base is too small, so it is easy to knock over. I had one in my garage and was moving a bag that brushed against it and knocked it over, breaking the heating element. If the base were bigger, I’d buy another as a replacement, but I’ll look for something more stable.

This arrived packed well and worked great. Unfortunately, a month later it sparked when I turned it on and the heating element didn’t work again. Will be returning for a refund.

I ordered this heater. It arrived with a broken heating element. I ordered a second with expensive delivery, as I needed it immediately. It also arrived with broken (visibly in half) heating element. Very very poor quality

Immediately caught on fire as soon as we turned it on. Bought two and the second one the filament was broken and had melted. We had that one on for maybe 10 seconds. Very dangerous. I don’t have the boxes to return now and I don’t think I should have to buy them and drive to the closest ups store but I can’t get anyone to message me back.
