I bought this phone to use with the AREDN network and it was super easy to configure! Would definitely recommend getting this phone

Good quality phone. Works well for 100MB. The phone has a tendency to tilt backwards when dialing. Easy to setup and works well with Cisco network hardware and Callcentric phone service. I really like the simple layout of the buttons and the locking feature. Too bad that the device is not better balanced. You can wall mount the phone which will obviously prevent tipping, but I like the phone on the desk. No problem using POE with this phone.

  3. Amazon Customer

Set-up directions from the manufacturer were grossly inadequate and factually wrong. I spent many hours with Amazon tech support trying to get these set up. Most of the 7 reps I spoke with were useless. Two techs were really persistent in finding information to help, but were unable to connect with the manufacturer when that was needed to set up voicemail. I was never able to keep both phones working at once. One was always a problem. I submitted an online request to Grandstream (since they won’t accept calls), but they never responded. Consequently, I was never able to set the phones up for voicemail. What a waste of many hours of frustration. I’m going to return them, since they still don’t work properly.

This phone is extremely cheap and so light weight that when I lift the receiver, the rest of the phone comes along with it.

The phone works really well. Relatively easy to configure if you know the basics of networks and VoIP. For those that do not, this is not a regular landline telephone and it will not work as such. It can be used with the supplied handset, a headset, but it also incorporates a speaker, which is useful to place some calls with decent sound quality (obviously, it sounds better with the handset). Some of the buttons can be programmed as speed dial, which is great. If you just have a couple of regular numbers to call, communication can be established pressing just one button. There is also a full agenda funtion that allows you to store as many numbers as you like.
I own two units. One of them has been in use with POE supply for more than a year without any issues. The other one was just bought and it is working well with the 5V PSU included. The box also contains a network cable for connection to the router.

The phone is a good product. The advertisement did not mention it had to come from the US. So, I had to pay 196kr customs duty. Also a power adapter from US to EU connection was not in the package and we had to order separate. So, it is faster delivery and more cost effective to order the phone at a real Swedish shop instead of Amazon.

We tried the 8 Port Grandstream Analog FXS with our VoIP provider and their basic virtual PBX in their Cloud. It semi worked but basic features like transferring calls to another extension was a hit and miss most of the time. Decided to go with the full Grandstream Mini PBX and these Grandstream GXP1625 phones. Glad we did. Easy to use Features that just work and sound quality that is Top Notch. Plus 100’s more features in the PBX system we won’t use in a long time. Maybe when our business grows more we will need them.

I use these in the office. It is great that it has an online interface. And many providers have just firmware you can download.

I personally don’t use the wall wart, but it does work with that if you don’t have POE. But cleaner setup with just POE if you have it.

Good phone, easy menu. Will definitely buy again

This is an excellent IP Phone. Excellent built quality and comes with all necessary accessories like power adaptor and LAN patch cord.
I purchased it to use with BSNL WINGS. BSNL could not provide me an account in three months after taking rs. 1200 in advance. So I am using it with a free SIP service provider. It’s call quality is extremely good, without any noise or distortion. It is also very reliable even on free SIP service. I am using it on Airtel extremefiber DSL line (40 Mbps up &10Mbps down), I have also tested it on 30 Mbps JIO Fibre sucessfuly. Be cautious about your service provider, because all providers do not allow SIP calls on their network. Alliance Broadband is such ISP in Kolkata. You have to request them to activate the service to use this phone in their network.
I paid 3400/- for this GXP1625 which is quite reasonable.

A basic 2-line phone that sets up fairly easily on a FreePBX system – which is what most PBXs are based on, even if they’re not the free one. Read the user guide – which will explain the buttons in greater detail. Sound quality is excellent. One note for provisioning — it’s a pjSIP, not a chan-SIP. Made a mistake in setting it up in FreePBX with one of the lines going to a PBX extension defined as a chan-SIP. Changed it to pjSIP and that line connected like magic.

    Update almost two years later:
Still very happy with this phone. It’s important to not this isn’t a Plug-n-Play idiot-proofed Joe Consumer device. It’s made for installation with a real PBX and presumes whoever is installing it knows what they’re doing with a PBX, its settings and configuring it and a VoIP phone for it. There are no guard rails to keep you from going over a cliff. Many SIP providers are using ULAW audio codec. Trying to force G.722 for HD can result in flaky operation with intermittent one-way audio (you can hear them but they cannot hear you) – as something in the path is attempting to transcode the G.722 to ULAW. One of the nuances in getting a personal PBX and VoIP working properly. Getting its firmware updated was a challenge as I’m a home user, not a medium or large business with server provisioning, etc. Did finally get it to go after fussing with a Windows TFTP server that could be started and stopped after the update occurred. Took some reading about how to do this on Grandstream’s site and a little persistence. Fortunately, that’s not something that occurs very often (it’s actually rare). Phone does what it needs to do. I personally believe most problems are PBX configuration, not the phone. Also took some tweaks in FreePBX settings to get the voicemail and missed call flags working correctly with the PBX setting and clearing them. Overall I remain extremely pleased as it’s a convenient two-line extension placed elsewhere in my home to prevent scrambling to get to the other one. It’s extremely cost effective compared to other phones (e.g. Cisco, Polycom, etc.)
