Gotta say, I didn’t know much about this company and their products being someone who had a smaller cheap one that wasn’t really all too great. Saw how many people here held this in high regard and decided to pull the trigger for a project needing 5/16″ tune cut.
First use with this was eye opening. The cutting, feel, and just overall build quality was top notch! Cut through a stainless steel tube like butter then proceeded to keep doing that on repeat for a few more cuts.
The large knob was comfortable to use and turns like silk making it just the most effortless tool for this job.
Only thing I can ding it on is the clam shell packaging with no easy opening but nothing a good sharp box cutter can’t fix.
If you’re on the fence, I’m saying take the plunge. It’ll definitely be worth it!

I needed to cut heavy-walled stainless tubing for a boat project, but wanted a cleaner, straighter cut than a hacksaw could provide. This tool was just the ticket. It is quite well made, and as the description says it uses bearings opposite the cutting wheel instead of the customary rollers. This makes for a very straight cut as the cutter remains very perpendicular to the tubing. One word of caution, however- you need to allow the cutting wheel get a good first bite on the tubing, else the cutter will trace a spiral around the tube. This started to happen to me because I did not take an aggressive enough “bite” on the tubing at first. I restarted the cut again, really clamping down on the tubing the second time, which allowed the cutter to stay in it’s “track”. It took about 5 turns to cut through the heavy tubing. The cut was very clean and needed only minimal touch-up with emery cloth to remove the inner burr. I made four separate cuts with this tool, and the last cut worked as well as the first. Another note- Amazon’s description says it can handle tubing up to 1-1/8″ diameter, but the Ridgid website states the capacity is 1-3/8″. The latter number is correct- it easily handled my 1-1/4″ diameter tubing.

I installed a high pressure misting system with 3/8” stainless tubing. I first tried cutting this with a standard copper tubing cutter and while it worked it was a lot of work. Once I switched to using this cutter it was easy peezy and I was able to cut through the tubing so much faster and cleaner. It was well worth the money to pay a bit more for this cutter in order to make the job go smoother. There were many frustrating parts to this project but every time I need to cut the tubing it was the one part that just worked and I never regretted spending the money on this tool.

Bought this because I couldn’t find my old tubing cutter. Naturally after I got this I found the old one. But this one works better. Makes a clean cut very easily, no tendency of the cut to spiral down the tube.

Heureusement que l’on a entre les mains un produit de haute qualité, parce que vu le prix, on pouvait être inquiet.
Ceci étant, on peut économiser pas mal d’euros avec d’autres produits équivalents.
On se rassure en se disant que c’est sensé durer toute une vie.
La molette se visse avec douceur, il n’y a pas de jeu, on ne peut pas la faire tournoyer toute seule, ce que j’apprécie car cela apporte de la précision dans la pression exercée sur le tube.
À reserver aux professionnels qui aiment leur travail et leurs outils, ou bien aux geeks du bricolage.
Utilisation reservée à l’inox. Mais le Cuivre est tout à fait possible. Je fais les deux sans souci.

I was a bit skeptical of whether this would really work or not, but I was very pleasantly surprised. I needed to make a handful of cuts in some stainless tube, and it worked great. The key was just tightening a little each time. I was amazed at how easy it was, and the cuts came out very clean without any need to file the ends.

I’ve used the $10 tubing cutters from HFT and A-zone for years, and I thought that’s just how tubing cutters were. When my last one wore out I thought I’d have a look on Amazon to see what others liked, and this topped the reviews. Still took me three months of dilly-dallying to convince myself to spend $45 for a unit I felt should be $10, but gave in and ordered one because I have a ton of metal conduit and tubing to cut. WOW!! This thing is the Rolls Royce of cutters! The Bentley! First of all, it’s huge. It probably weighs a full pound, has multiple rollers with bearings, cutting wheel with bearing, and it’s so well made that the slide never binds and the power screw never jams. It’s like silk. It cuts through 1” EMT like butter, never a hiccup or jump or squeal. It doesn’t wander off track, it doesn’t jam, and it’s very forgiving even if you accidentally over-tighten the cutter a bit. So far I’ve probably made two dozen cuts (?) and it’s actually a pleasure to use it…I’ve been using it instead of a jigsaw or sawzall even for cuts I could do with the saw just because I like using it.
I believe this is a tool that will last a lifetime. We’ll see how long I live and how long it lasts, but I’m super happy. Absolutely would buy this over and over if I had to.
