Update 12/12/23 – Schwinn was excellent, they immediately jumped on the issues and replacement parts are already on the way! The bike seems to be pretty good quality, with great paint finish.
I just unboxed (on 12/10/23) a schwinn that I bought for my wife as a Christmas present. We got it all assembled, and when we inflated the tires, the rear inner tube exploded. Oh well, stuff happens, went to Walmart and bought a new tube figuring that would be easier than waiting for one from Schwinn. After installing it we realized that the rim is badly bent and need to be replaced. There’s no impact marks and the box wasn’t damaged, it’s just made wrong. I have reached out to Schwinn but unless they approve a replacement for the rear rim I’m stuck giving my wife an unrideable bike for Christmas.

Bike’s pretty, and changing gears is a dream, but assembly is a real nightmare. No matter how tight you turn the screw, the handlebars won’t be able to withstand any weight you put on them without collapsing.
Update: the faulty, wiggly handlebar makes the bike incapable of riding, and no amount of tightening can fix that. I’m very disappointed and if it was possible I’d try to get my money back for such a faulty product. I’ve changed my review to reflect that.
Second update: Within a week of owning it, I rode it twice for a few yards to test it. I’ve stored it in my apartment, next to my computer chair, because I didn’t want any inclement weather to damage it. I needn’t have bothered. While I was seated at my computer, my cat in my lap, the back tire popped. My cat, terrified by the sudden hissing, ripped my legs up with her claws. I don’t know what they filled the tires with, but my apartment was quickly filled with the smell of rotten fish. AVOID THIS PRODUCT. It’s 200 dollars for a bike that arrives broken, no matter what you try to do to fix it. Repairs will cost more than the entire bike.
And shame on Amazon for allowing this vendor to get away with this.

I was so excited to get this bike. I really was. I should have known by the price point that this wasn’t a great quality bike. Very easy to assemble–took less than an hour, with standard basic tools that everybody should have in the family toolbox. Brakes were a little difficult to adjust, but youtube helped me through it with ease.
Great things: It’s a nice design, it’s sturdy, it’s really easy to assemble, and it’s a hefty bike. Should last a looooong time.
Problems: Wheels are warped, and they came that way, so the brakes drag intermittently while you ride. No amount of adjusting the brakes will help when the wheels are warped. It has shimano shifters, which is great, but it must be a bottom of the line shifter, because it randomly shifts while riding, especially if I ride over a bump. It’s a little clunky. Literally. It makes odd random clunking noises while I ride. I have not been able to figure out where these noises are coming from.
It gets me where I need to go, and I can shift on the hills, so it’s not too hard to ride. Overall, I give this bike a B-. Not bad, but not great, either. You get what you pay for with this one.

TINY BASKET. Looks bigger in picture. Bike is fine. But, the Wide heavy tires are great for leisure, but not traversing inter-city traffic at a fast clip. . Now looking for a more slender bike with narrow wheels.

I read reviews and was not surprised by this bike. It is built solidly as I would expect from Schwinn and was not crazy hard to put together. I did have to adjust the derailer and it was simply a matter of turning 2 screws. Instructions are in the manual for everything you need to know and there is a customer support number provided as well.
Ride quality was good. Seat is comfortable, though the seat is white so shows dirt easily. Brakes were noisy at first but after several rounds of not hard braking I was able to build up enough on the rims that they are quiet now. Gears shift easily after the easy adjustment.
I purchased accessories including a basket for the front and it was easy to fit these as the design can accommodate a large basket in front.
My bike did have some scuffing (can easily buff out) and a few minor dings. I plan on contacting Schwinn to see if they make a touch up kit like you would get for a car. This does not bother me as it was overall I’m good shape upon arrival.
It does include wheel and front/rear reflectors which is something I wondered before I got it. Tires needed minor inflation so be prepared for that.
I will update my review if anything changes, but I am happy with the Perla. The “blue” is definitely a mint/sea foam color which is my favorite. I recommend the bike!

Although there were issues with the transaction, my bike finally arrived. Now that I’ve put it together and had a local shop tighten and check my work, I am sooo pleased with this bicycle. Sleek and comfortable. Smooth riding all around. I would suggest assembling using the manual alone that comes with it. And I could not find any video for this model specifically, and there really should be one. But after approx 9 hours, I finally had it put together. My wrists are not as strong as I thought and I was unable to tighten the seat and handlebars appropriately, but a local shop helped with that. The instructions for aligning the brakes were also apparently confusing. I had them perfect according to the shop that double checked my work for me, but not according to the instructions. So I guess I would also suggest getting a second opinion on your work after putting it together. And maybe have a professional deal with the brakes right from the get-go. And DO test drive in a highly secured area just in case the seat and handlebars come loose at the same time. Lol. Hey – everyone does know to do that, right?
Overall I am THRILLED with the final product! Gotta go for a ride now 😊

I think this is the prettiest bike I have ever owned! So cute! It rides well and was fairly easy to adjust. It is comfortable for shorter distances but I had to buy some padded bike shorts for longer rides. I bought a basket for my water bottle and a cell phone holder so I can track my miles!
