I was easy to set up the combination and to use to lock up my bike.
Update May 2024:
This is the SECOND kryptonite lock I have purchased in the past 4 years. This one is 11 months old. BOTH locks suffered the same flaw which turns them into paper weights. Use at your own peril.
I last used this lock on a trip to do some cycling in March 2024. I locked the bike up on the way there and on days after I rode. The lock worked flawlessly. When I got home I locked the lock up and left it in my car for another day. When I went to use it early May 2024, I could no longer open it. I have no clue how, with no intent I locked the lock with a new combination.
Now, the reason I own this lock is due to the fact that the SAME thing happened to me on my previous lock in the spring of 2023, why I got this in June 2023. A replacement for the other unopenable lock!
I was lucky, both times that the new combination took effect while the lock was in my car. Not while it was securing a bike. I cannot imagine the problems and frustration arriving at a ride after driving 100-300 miles to find the lock unopenable and having my bike permanently attached to my bike.
Until one learns the issue or Kryptonite fixes this FATAL FLAW, use these locks at your own peril.

Il cavetto non corrisponde all’immagine, non ha l’aggancio perpendicolare, ma consecutivo e con perno lungo e dentato classico; quindi non so se si possa trovare la combinazione con facilità come si può vedere spiegato sui video di Youtube. Aggiungo che il perno dentato ha come una campana con diametro identico al lucchetto e non si può infilare in spazzi piccoli.
Potete vedere l’immagine corretta dalle foto lasciate da altri recensori che lo spiegano in inglese.
Sicuramente l’immagine che ora vedete su Amazon riguarda il modello ” kryptoflex 1218 combo cable “.
Il quale sembra abbia un difetto di progettazione che fa rimpostare la combinazione senza accorgersene e poi non si è più in grado di riaprirlo.
Comunque quel “kryptoflex 1218 combo cable” è molto probabile che si possa aprire senza conoscere la combinazione utilizzando il modo di tenerlo tirato e provare tutti numeri per ogni rotellina, quando si sente che su un numero la rotellina gira con più difficoltà o si blocca, vuol dire che quello è il numero corretto.
Io l’ho dedotto leggendo la recensione fatta sul sito di un altro venditore “If you are in this position, twist the combination until you feel the release move a bit. Those are the pins releasing in the lock mechanism. Keep spinning each number until the release comes undone.”.
Quindi da evitare assolutamente, dato che adesso ci sono catene e cavetti con lucchetti a combinazione integrati che offrono varie misure che impediscono l’utilizzo di questo metodo.
Per quanto riguarda questo (815) diverso dalla foto non ne ho idea, non mi va nemmeno di provarci, comunque sconsiglio di usare cavetti per assicurare la bici, ma più che altro di utilizzarli come integrazione per assicurare una ruota ed accessori come il portapacchi ed il sellino.
Una catena con lucchetto a combinazione integrato che ho visto essere praticamente impossibile da decodificare con il semplice metodo che ho descritto sopra è la ABUS 485664 – 1385/85_BLACK, c’è anche un video su Youtube che mostra che è stata decodificata in condizioni e con ausili che non si possono avere all’aperto per rubare.

For the price this Kryptonite lock is a quality product and perfect for my needs. I can wrap it a few times around my seat post, stick the key in my bike bag and feel pretty secure with leaving my bike securely locked up for a few minutes. Of course if someone comes by with a bolt cutter ,not sure if this would help much!
