Easy to use and simple. Its good product for the price

I am rather obsessive when it comes to the performance of my computers. Hence my tag name.
I take security pretty seriously and I periodically try other av products that are affordable or on sale just to see how they work. Kapersky, Eset, Bitdefender to name a few. All of them are good with my favorite being ESET. The problem being ESET didn’t do so well on some av tests. Webroot works differently in that it detects unusual behavior more than file signatures which it does scan using a cloud based scanner. What this means is that in AV testing Webroot doesn’t work because it doesn’t work in the same way a traditional AV. So it is hard to get a real world evaluation besides my own experience. One thing to note is the technology they used should theoretically be better able to detect zero day and emerging threats and because it is cloud based signatures are updated in real time. All in all this makes for very little footprint on your pc and a small usage of resources.
For me I think the product is great because it doesn’t slow my pc’s down and allows for almost instantaneous updates. The only downside would be the need to an active net connection. There is an offline scan as well.
I think Webroot is a really good product. I would say it prioritizes performance a bit over security while still providing a robust security solution. In some ways I feel it is superior to other AV. There is a new AV that uses AI but it is expensive. I have a feeling that AI will be the future of AV software but for now as a low cost, high performance security option I highly recommend Webroot!!

The program works great. Easy to use. There were no instructions or emails stating that the key would populate in our amazon notifications. I thought it would be delivered, but it did show up after about an hour.

I have been using this product for many years, each time buying it from Amazon. The product is very good and I have no problems with it. This year, there was no Buy Now button. The web page says that I bought it last year, which is true. So, how am I supposed to renew the subscription if there is no Buy Now button?
So, I tried contacting Amazon customer support via chat. I tried to explain that the web page for the item says I have bought it before and there is no “Buy Now” button. But, there is an “Add To Cart” button. My concern was that if I added it to the cart and successfully managed to pay for it, would I get a new keycode? If not, then I would be wasting my money.
Another possibility is that perhaps Amazon’s policy has changed and they only offer this product to new customers. But, more likely it is a bug with the website. I asked to escalate the issue, but apparently there is no escalation policy. It looks like Amazon has no interest in its customers reporting bugs. Maybe they are perfect and they don’t have bugs…
From my transcript with the customer support person:
Tejaswi: I would like to inform you that once you will renew your subscription for that antivirus then it will automatically link to your device and you do not need any code for this.
Please be assured about this.
How Trumpian…
Me: “Not true! I have renewed in the past and it required the keycode.”
I finally lost my patience when:
Tejaswi: “We don’t have any more stock of Webroot Internet Security with Antivirus Protection – 2019 right now, and we’re not sure if/when we’ll be able to get more.”
I then said:
“It is a software download!!!! There is an infinite supply!!!
My God! Good luck to you. You are going to need it. Try to find a job that you are actually good at.”
I finally bought a renewal from a different company for the same price. I entered the keycode and it renewed for another year. So, congratulations Amazon on a job well done here. You lost a sale, but you won the argument?
I would recommend others to do the same if there is no Buy Now button because I’m still not quite sure if they will give you a new keycode or not.

Its more just a donation to webroot as its not returnable and states its not valid. Filed BBB complaint for fraud. Amazon refuses to refund so did a chargeback. Fraud

There’s a running joke in my family that Norton Antivirus is more annoying than a real virus, and I probably waste an hour or more of life a month waiting for the McAfee my employer uses.
Webroot isn’t annoying and doesn’t spam you with emails popups and notifications all day long. I have been using it for three years now, with great results. Granted I don’t take my PCs places online where one is certain to encounter sketch, but I haven’t ever had an issue. Very easy to install, I didn’t rate tech support because I haven’t needed it yet. With this license you get three PCs too, so it is a great value.

I went away from Webroot due to reviews from Consumer Reports and some trusted tech web sites. I have noticed all of these sites have links to where you can purchase them, so other than CR, I’m wary of their ratings. From the last time I had Webroot installed, I’ve used the more marketed AV software and they have major shortcomings. Mcafee tries to sell you something relentlessly. Same with Bitdefender, a major disappointment. In fact Bitdefender blocks common sites which I also looked up on Reddit. The only problem with Webroot is a bad marketing idea where you can renew for double the price you initially paid. Who does this? I have to buy a new license at the cheaper price and reinstall when the current license expires. Wacky.
