Finally was able to pick one of these up with the $500 off coupon for only $799. Planning on using the Wave2 mostly in my camper to help fight off the AZ Heat. For starters, its looks really stylish and well built. It didn’t take very long to figure out where and how the various accessories attach. The screen is nice and bright. Everything is up and running and cranking out 60 deg air. I am loving it already. One thing that stands out is how quiet it is even on Max mode. Adding the device to my EcoFlow app was very quick and easy. I have several EcoFlow devices and I think they do a fantastic job in this area. The app is feature rich and intuitive. I recommend pairing this device with the add-on battery and/or a large power station like the Delta2 Max with portable solar panels to be able to maximize run time when away from a wall outlet. This device comes with a full 2 year warranty (with product registration) and EcoFlow’s customer service is really good so I have little to worry about if something goes awry. Lets go camping!

This unit could not cool a shoe box. I have a small truck camper 12′ long X 6′ wide with a total of only
310 cu.ft. It was 97 degrees F outside and it dropped the temperature inside to a pathetic 87 Deg F after running on Max for 3 hours.
It says 5,100BTU’s. I think they got it backwards. It is more like 1,500BTU’s
Total waste of money. I am going to see what I can do to return for a full refund
SB Outdoors –
I setup my EcoFlow Wave 2 and again, I’m impressed with their products. I setup the unit inside my vehicle since that’s where I’d be using it or in my tent while camping. The included window vent template made it easy to cut out holes from a piece of cardboard to insert into the car window. If you have the car vent kit, then you do not need to use the vent template. Once I connected the hoses and vented both of them through the window – the interior of the vehicle quickly got cooler. In less than half an hour the ambient temperature dropped from over 90F to 65F. The heating was even more impressive. It took less than 15 minutes to move from 68F to 82F. When the unit got to the set temperature, it would stop pulling power from the power stations and then turn back on the compressor as necessary to maintain the set temperature. It is really quiet while the compressor is running – so you could sleep uninterrupted.
I was easily able to connect the Wave 2 to the EcoFlow app and use the app to control the temperature and modes. The Wave 2 has three modes: Cooling, heading and Fan. I tried both my EcoFlo Delta 2 and my River 2 Pro to power it using the included power cord. Note: if using 12V (DC/Car plug) to power the Wave 2 via the XT60i port, only fan mode is available. During operation, I did not notice the Wave 2 pulling more than 500W – it mostly it stayed around 350W. The Wave 2 can be powered by an optional battery, and with it, the solar panel can be used as well. In addition, it could be connected to the Delta 2 or Delta 2 extra battery using an XT-150 cable vs the AC (wall plug).
The Wave 2 would certainly extend my camping season into the colder months to keep me warm while camping. For those hot summer days, it would be very useful to keep the tent cool during the extreme daytime heat.

I went into buy the Wave 2 hoping that it wasn’t bad like the previous portable a/c camping units I have bought before. And thankfully I was surprised. This thing has become indispensable for keeping me cool during the day while working at my desk and when the power went out, keeping me cool enough to sleep at night.
Pros:
– Very quiet, even in Max mode
– Optional battery attachment or I can use it with any of my Ecoflow deltas
– Automatic drain for the condensate water that puts it in a water jug (I use a water jug while inside) and the water evaporation mode is super handy (instead of draining, it uses the water to help cool the condenser and then the water evaporates with the discharge air from the condenser. Which is really clever. I have seen a few of these portable air conditioners do this and it is a really handy feature.

– heat mode works well especially since it is a heat pump.
-extremely high efficiency, I was measuring peaks of about 400-500 watts in the highest (max cooling) mode. And an average of 200-300 watts when in normal cooling mode.
-sleep mode is extremely quiet and still gets the job done will in a small tent
-plenty of venting options with he included hoses and attachments.
Cons
– The app control can be a bit Clunky sometimes ‘
– the unit is decently heavy even without the battery attached. If you are a person that is older or has difficulty moving kind of awkward loads, then maybe consider a different solution
-If you move it after it has been running and you tilt at all then the water will run out of the front grille or rear grill and make a mess.
-compared to a few other options it is relatively expensive. Although those other options are not worth it if you are planning to run off grid
-the airflow out of the cooling/heating vent does not come out linear to the front of the machine. It essentially comes out at a 45 degree angle because of the cage style blower motor they use. This isn’t too much of a problem if you can turn the whole unit to direct
the airflow where you want it. But if you have limited space and you can’t turn the unit very much. This can be challenging if you are already using the smaller hose for the condenser air discharge and cannot use it to direct the evaporator air discharge.
Overall I highly recommend the Wave 2 after using for a couple of weeks. Especially if you need something that is portable and more efficient than buying a portable air conditioner from say Home Depot or something.
SB Outdoors –
You better have an extremely small room that’s very well insulated if you expect this thing to do much of anything. I was trying to cool a 10ft x 10ft bedroom in a mobile home and it hardly makes it any cooler after running for hours constantly. Wasn’t even that hot; like 85 outside then 70s into the evening. I wouldn’t even bother if it’s a 90 plus degree day. I seriously doubt the 5,000 BTU claim from the manufacturer based on my experience and considering the price, extremely disappointing.
