*Update: After banging and clanging weights doing some light and heavy lifting non stop for weeks I have to say I’m impressed with these gloves. I think Harbinger improved a lot over the older design in the grip department. The grip on them feels great no weight slipping or anything. I used to use my straps when I would lift 100lb dumbells because the older design slipped a lot but these were no problem. Improvement over the old design I noticed more so than the grip where the wrist straps. The older design never held on tight enough or stayed in place. The velcro on these bites down hard. If I’m bench pressing heavy or doing olympic styled presses the tight straps really help a lot.
I brought these to replace the original version I purchased back in 2008. The original ones look the same as these but they’re black where this one is blue. My old Harbinger gloves look like a grenade exploded in my hands. They ripped to shreds but I still used them because they were like an old baseball glove. Despite how torn about these things get they’re like the P-Mag of lifting gloves I swear. My old gloves of this design as raggedy as they looked with the side split open, palm cushioning hanging out and the fabric between the finger slots long since missing steal held up and protected my palms and griped weight just fine.
I brought these new versions of the same exact design because after 10 years there’s no way I was going to find the exact pair I had before. These Harbinger Training Grip Gloves are the exact same design and materials though but are different in some ways without “Harbinger” being stitched into the wrist wrap and the color scheme. The palm padding seems to be less cushioned I noticed. With my old gloves it took maybe a 2 weeks of weight lifting to break them in. It was tough trying to grip on to things at times because of the grip and the cushioning which led to me taking these off at times and just using straps instead.
I noticed with this new version that it felt usable right out the box I honestly forgot they were even knew gloves. They didn’t feel stiff or anything and they gripped everything perfectly. It didn’t’ matter if I picked up 10’s or 100’s they never made my grip feel awkward. I don’t know what material changes Harbinger made but to me it’s apparent they tried to make the glove more out the box friendly. The wrist straps felt stiff and strong as they should be no velcro issues yet at least they held on tight and firm through my work out. I hope they last as long as my old gloves because after 10 years the velcro on my older version looks like a lint trap but it still hold on strong.
I’m pretty satisfied with the purchase after having a successful workout with them but I’ve been using this same style of gloves for years as it is these are just Harbinger’s new version of them. I couldn’t see myself using another brand or style because I’m so accustomed to this design and I really like it. I even ordered a second pair. The biggest thing I like about the gloves is the wrist strap. That wrist strap has literally keep my workouts going harder and deeper at times when my wrist was sore or even wrapped in ace. The straps do their job protecting your wrist well so if you have wrist problems you can still workout comfortably. Arm curls, heavy dumbbell presses and those annoying forearm workouts where you sit on that bench thing are where I feel the wrist straps really do their job in keeping your hands straight and minimizing wrist fatigue for me that’s a concern since I play keyboards and guitars but these gloves have always been cool.
So overall I guess I will say that yeah these are some pretty awesome gloves. I know they’re not going to be for everyone but I find them to be exactly what I feel comfortable using when I’m going hard at the gym.

I love Harbinger workout gloves and I bought these for my husband. I measured his hand and the chart indicated an XL, which I ordered. I was waaaay too small…He couldn’t even get it on his hand, so I had to return it. Maybe it was mislabeled? The quality looked great, but it was small.

I love this brand of lifting gloves. The leather on the palm, along with the padding aids in comfortability and support. Although I’m normally not a fan of wrist wraps, under recent circumstances, I needed extra support to avoid unnecessary wrist bending. The “free fingers” help maintain that feel that is needed when adjusting to grip, location of weight bar or dumbbell, and the little tabs that are sewn in, really help to remove them comfortably.
I also use these for bicycle riding to avoid blisters on the palms.

I’m an Asian guy whose wrists are weak and easy to hurt when lifting
These gloves can protect my wrists from damage.
But i don’t know they can also work for power lifting.
I used these gloves by lifting dumbells. They supported my wrists and work worthy and enough.
And then I ordered this product bigger size because this product was little smaller than I thought.
Actually I’m an Asian guy who has small hands but small size didn’t fit for my hands. That’s why I ordered bigger size.
Finally, today I brought these gloves at the gym and it supported and protected my wrists even though I was lifting heavy dumbells at 20 pounds. I used to lift with 10 and 15 pound dumbells lol. Therefore, I’m very satisfied to use this glove and I highly recommend these gloves to the people who have weak wrists like me.
I updated my review
It has been a month. I’m disappointed at this product. Sweat still remain in the gloves and smell bad.
Sideline on palms are already tearing apart . The materials seem to fall apart after a couple of month.
It protected my wrists but not palm. One of my palms got hurt after bench press. I still got pain after that.

Great condition as advertised. Material and quality is very good. It’s still in great shape thus far.
Frank Mena –
Great support for hands and wrists and solid grip while working with weights.

I’ve used a pair of Harbingers for years despite it falling apart and basically providing my palm no protection. I finally decided to replace them with this, the exact same kind of wristwrap lifting gloves.
They’re tight. They’re not kidding. I do think I’ve had mine for decades, so of course they’ve loosened over the years.
But they’re also made with Neoprene now, instead of leather. It doesn’t breath as well. The entire back of the glove feels like the stuff that wetsuits are made of. It means that when working out, my hands are a lot hotter, and I feel like sweat is soaking into the gloves more than with leather.
The palms are very well padded, though because they’re new, the gloves are also forcing me to train grip strength. Because of the padding, it’s almost like I’m wrapping a towel around the bar and training grip while lifting.
In short, I’m conflicted. They’re fine, but I’m pretty disappointed by the neoprene vs leather. I don’t think that’s a smart decision. It makes the gloves feel cheaper, AND my hands sweat more.

Stitching is weak, little fingers already coming apart. Happened a week after 30day Amazon return. Harbinger is a Chinese company and unreachable. Junk. Used to be good gloves
Erol –
I wear this every day and I love it. It has a perfect grip. It also gives wrist additional support for dead lift and other workout.
Francisco –
This brand has good reviews but after two months of normal use in the gym, the stitches around one finger came undone. For the price, that is very disappointing.
Javi –
Just finished my first session with these gloves and I’m really happy with them. They feel solid, provide good protection, and the wrist support is ample (I actually have to undo the Velcro in order to comfortably do pushups).
I don’t consider myself to have particularly big hands, but the large fit, well, like a glove. The finger cutouts extend just past the knuckle to provide just a bit of extra protection. The palm and finger areas are covered with soft, padded leather except for the thumb. Aside from the wrist strap, there is no Velcro on the gloves – when you slide your hands in, there’s an elastic mesh that holds the glove in place until your wrap the wrist wraps around. The black material on the topside of the hand is some kind of felt material. Feels nice to the touch and adds a sense of quality to the gloves.
Definitely would recommend them for moderate to serious lifters. Should these gloves fall apart in less than a year, I’ll post an update.
