Before buying this jump rope, I owned a plastic cord type rope that I bought for exercise. I never really used it and when I wanted to it was wrinkled and nearly impossible to use and it snapped when I used it outside in the cold.
So I found this type of rope and knew that being made of rope material that It wouldn’t snap in the cold. The beads are a bonus! Not being as flexible or nimble as I was in 1st grade, the beads help to keep the shape in a perfect U so you can jump over it and not trip up. So far the beads have not broken. I use this twice a week for cardio exercise before resistance training. If you want to speed jump, this rope is not intended for that purpose. It is possible but not for long. The black and white color is also appealing. Oh and the rope is adjustable if your short like me 🙂

Not sure why, but broke within 2 days. Used by a 13 yr old training to box. We made it a little shorter so it’s working but not too happy. Otherwise it’s good.

I used this rope for LITERALLY less than 5 minutes and it tore apart. Unfortunately I can’t return it because I live abroad and it would be more expensive to send back the item. Don’t buy this piece of crap.

I initially loved the rope. I appreciated the foam grips and the fact that the beads worked as a weight, subsequently increasing the skipping speed. After using it three times a week on average, for about fifteen minutes per session, the underlying string holding the beads together snapped from the handle and the plastic pieces exploded all over the room. I owned the rope for roughly half a year, so I was expecting a little more longevity than that out of this product. I’m going to upgrade to a more dependable jump rope going forward, and pay a little more money to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

I have two jump ropes — this beaded one and a lighter, non-beaded cord. This one is faster and if it catches on your shoe, it won’t completely stop you like the lighter more advanced ropes (which can be very irritating and could discourage the beginner). Easily adjustable and generally a fantastic way to stay fit even while you travel. And I do travel with it. Gets your heart rate up fast and keeps it there. You also need very little room for the exercise and it is quiet on carpet so it won’t wake up the whole house or the hotel neighbor next door.
