The motor is quiet for a.food processor but it still does the job very well. The extra attachments are useful. Slight with design of the lid when shedding cheese but it is minor and wound stop from buying it.

Our old Cuisinart died a few months ago, and we didn’t love any of their current options. While this unit is fancier than we’re used to, we’re very happy with the purchase and the price we paid. It is larger and much quieter than our last one. The different size chutes are nice for adding items while it’s running.
It operates as expected and seems well constructed. While the “caddy” for all the blades and accessories is nice, it does take some getting used to in removing it from the machine and repacking it when cleaning up.

I bought this Kitchenaid 13 cup food processor to replace my old Kitchenaid 4 cup. Nothing wrong with the 4 cup just needed a bigger bowl. The same day I also bought the Cuisinart 13 cup food processor. I wanted to compare the 2 because I make homemade peanut butter as a side hustle. I first tested the Cuisinart with 2lbs of raw skinned peanuts. I pushed the button on HIGH. I had to stop it to scrape the side of the bowl and to break up the big pieces at least 6 times. It wouldn’t keep creaming. It never bogged down and stopped but it just kept spinning and not moving the nuts around. I put the same amount of peanuts in the Kitchenaid and started it also on high. I never had to stop the Kitchenaid until it was done making my creamy peanut butter. I didn’t add any liquid at all to either bowl. I would, hands down, go with the Kitchenaid. The only reason I bought the Cuisinart to compare is because Costco had it on sale for 159.99 and the Kitchenaid on Amazon was 199.99. The Kitchenaid was also easier to clean and the parts just made more sense. It was put together better. It also didn’t shake like the Cuisinart, which only has suction cups on the bottom to hold it steady. I hope this review helps.

    Update 3-13-23 *********************
I was using the KitchenAid 13 cup food processor and it just quit working. I was making homemade peanut butter and didn’t have a lot in the bowl. It came back on and then quit again and never started again. :/. So disappointed! I only used it for two days! Back to my 15 year old 4 cup bowl KitchenAid. I needed that extra room!

This was a great purchase. I decided to upgrade my kitchen appliances and this was one of the first things I got. The KitchenAid brand is reliable, affordable and well built unlike some other brands that I’ve used in the past. They also offer their small kitchen appliances in a selection of standard colors so you can easily get them to match even if it takes some time to collect the ones you need. I liked that it has a nice size base with a decent amount of weight to make it sturdy but not too heavy to make it a pain to move from the cabinet to prep area. The non slip grips on the feet are nice when you get slicing hard carrots at jet engine speeds! The 7 cup capacity is perfect for us. I was worried it might be too small but it’s perfect. It can accommodate several ingredients without having to empty it halfway through. Snap the base into place, make sure the spinning blade (or 2 sided slicing disk) is set to what size you need. Then feed the veggies through the pour top with safety plunger and in seconds you have a side dish. I stopped buying shredded or precut foods because it is cheaper to buy bulk and run it through the processor. It takes more time to slice a brick of cheese into pieces than will fit, than it does to actually shred the block. I love having fast and affordable taco night shredded cheese that doesn’t have any weird coating to prevent sticking and preserve it. Plus it’s a lot more fun than I expected. Something about it brought out the kid in me when I first used it and let’s be honest, we could all use a little bit more fun in our day to day lives. The only con I can really think of is only applicable if you never used a food processor: wash it immediately or you will regret it. (That’s more of a basic food thing, not a con for KitchenAid) Some hot water, drop of soap and turn it to medium for a bit and it gets most of the mess out.

Overall I would recommend getting it. As a matter of fact, I often find myself thinking of recipes that I can make just to shred some stuff at high speed.

Had to finally move on from my 30+ year old Kitchenaid due to the bowl being cracked. Absolutely NO replacement parts available. Purchased this new one as a replacement. Let me tell you , they don’t make them like they used to. The old one was a tank. HEAVY and powerful. Instant response to controls. The new one is very lite. And because it is tall (old one was wide) it all seems a bit unstable. There is also a delay between pressing the buttons and the motor ramping up. Odd, no big deal, but it is something I notice.

    I like:
    1) bowl clicks easily onto the base/motor. used to have to twist it on.
    2) top of the bowl is easily removed for cleaning
    3) I can store all the bits I got in the bowl itself. Granted that is just the blade, adapter and single shred/slice disk.

We’ll see how long this one lasts.
