When I first got my hair cut into a faux hawk, my barber kept using Woody’s Web and I liked it way better than the Axe Messy Look paste I’d been using when I had a quiff. For comparison, the Axe was good for adding some texture to longer hair with a very light hold. The Woody’s smelled good, added texture, but then also gave me a bunch more hold and styling capabilities. I liked it so much that I switched after a couple of barber visits because the difference was undeniable.

One tin will last you a long time! I bought mine back in Sept. 2016 and am nearing the end now, but still probably have another couple of months left. Granted, I don’t apply Woody’s every day, only after I wash my hair, which is once or twice a week. For application, my recommendation is to not try to get the entire dose of wax in at once, but to add it in steps. This helps with even distribution. As other people have said, put a dollop in your palm and rub your hands together to warm the wax, then start from the back of your head forward, rubbing it in all over. If you put it on with wet hair and leave it, it will result in a wet look. I personally lightly wet my hair (like get hands wet, run through hair), before applying, as I find it a lot easier to distribute the product, plus I avoid the gel-like wet look.

The smell is nice, it’s not overpowering or unpleasant as some reviews state. Not sure how to describe the smell, but it’s mellow, I’d say it’s unisex bordering on masculine, and honestly, it’s not that noticeable once it’s in your hair. Someone would have to have their nose close to you to smell it, and the fragrance fades in time.

It’s not really a complaint, I just ordered another tin of Woody’s (this time trying Mold It), so I’m quite happy… Just an observation.. but I will say that I’ve noticed that over the 2+ years I’ve had the tin, the product has changed, which is understandable given the amount of time and that it contains some natural ingredients. The top layer turns a bit darker where it’s oxidized, and the wax itself has become clumpier in my hair, sort of resembling dandruff. Time for a new tin. 🙂

Great product, holds well and the scent alone is really wholesome. Definitely a staple product which holds more value with it being affordable and not over priced.

I bought this looking for an low shine and firm hold on my hair.. This product works much better then I expected and I only need to apply a very small amount.. My only gripe with this product if the color is too intense, if you have light hair like me , you will see blue color spots unless you continuously rub it away..

    Lighten up the color please!

I spike my bangs in the front, and have used this product for 7+ years. It does not take much product for my hair so 1 container lasts me a very long time. Very easy to apply. Highly recommend!

Randomly came across this for less than a quid so got a couple for the sake of it and wernt expecting much. Its actually really good for longer hair. Sets really nice with a hairdryer and stays in place all day. Little goes a long way and the 2 tubs lasted a year. Price had gone back up but was happy to pay full price and just bought a couple more. Only complaint is it’s hard to get off hands.

Doesn’t take much to get great hold. Doesn’t make my hair shiny. Works well in my beard as well.

As a professional of 28 years i have used Many products. The reviews that supposedly are for this seem truly unreal. This product is highly greasy , you almost need a degreasing soap to get it off your hands. The smell is lackluster and to top that it also leaves a blue residue on clients hair. This should be discontinued . I like other products by them but this is an epic fail. If you dont believe me, well at least you can return it. You been warned.

Better than half the hair clays priced at the higher end and better than all the hair clays priced at the lower end. Woody’s hair clay has a high hold with a matte finish, and it washes out easily. It does what it says and that’s the best part.

Has a somewhat light minty smell to it. Applies easily. The clay isnt quite as hard as some other brands. The added texture is acceptable. I wouldnt say its the best because Layrite essentially is one of if not the best in every possibly way, but you get more than what you pay for with Woody’s.
