Multipet Duckworth Duck Large 13″ Pack

I’ve bought this before — several times over the last six years. Duckworth is my dachshund’s favorite toy. At first he just shook Duckworth and pushed him to make him squeak. The first three each lasted nearly 8 months. I was quite impressed with how sturdy I thought Duckworth must be. However, now the dog slowly chews off the beak, then makes a hole in the duck’s side so he can extract the stuffing. He seems to have such fun doing this, so I pick up stuffing and re-stuff it and sew up the holes so the fun can last longer. (Warning – there is a soft, plastic “squeaker” inside. I watch for it and take it from the dog. I’m afraid it can be a choke hazard.) Eventually the duck is not much more than a flat piece of fuzzy fabric. But weird as it seems, my dog still loves his flattened duck. He carries it around the house and sucks on it when he’s sleepy. The duck is his nap buddy. I let him keep the fuzzy fabric scrap until he’s chewed it to almost nothing… I usually get him a new one every 4 or 5 months.

Purchased for a golden retriever as a puppy and have bought them a couple more times since he carries one around continuously and they do not hold up under numerous washings. If your dog chews destroys stuffed animals then I would not recommend. It is not for an aggressive chewer but is great if you have a retriever that just gets comfort from carrying one around in his mouth.

These ducks are great! Both of my dogs (Australian Shepards) absolutely love them and chew on them constantly. This is the third time I have reordered the same ducks over the last 3 years or so (my dogs can play tug of war a lot and they eventually tear them). With how rough my dogs are, I am very pleased with how well these ducks last without ripping. They typically last at least 6 months or longer with a constant barrage of attacks being dealt to them. Not sure what it is about the yellow ducks specifically, but my one female Aussie carries it wherever she goes and is constantly kneading at it with her paws while chewing on it.(imagine a cat kneading a blanket before laying down) She even sleeps with it most nights! Great toy for the durability and price!

Pros: Great price for how long they last, specific yellow color is an option (if you don’t like staring at lime green in your house all the time), both my Aussies are obsessed with them, very easy to clean (just throw in the washer)

Cons: Price for yellow ducks are more expensive…

My pup loves these. First toy we got for him when we got him. He loves to play fetch with it.

We got these because they were supposed to be more durable than your typical toy. There’s some confusion because there’s apparently a “plush” version of the same toy? You’d think they’d opt for better branding unless those are just knock offs. Who knows?

For what we got, these suckers survive for quite a while. They will not survive forever and it’ll depend on the size of the dog. We’ve got a smaller dog (he’s a mutt but he’s about the size of a Jack Russel or Pug) so it lasts longer but he’s a beast with his toys.

His first order of business is to find the squeaker and kill it as fast as he can (record is a couple of hours). Then he just works on it until the stuffing starts to come out (this can take weeks or longer depending). Then when it’s an empty shell, barely holding on to life, it starts to lose feet and beak (which we throw away once he separates them so he doesn’t try to eat the bloody things).

At that point, it makes for a great thrashing (kill! kill!) and fetch toy. We have a small collection of former Duckworths which he’ll randomly decide to play with…just depends on the day.

Definitely recommend these if you’ve got someone who just destroys plush toys. I mean, it’s fine for any dogs that want to just love the toy instead but this toy tends to survive both cases well.

I have 2 small dogs that just love these ducks. The ducks bottoms are easy to grab and light weight enough to run around with them. They like to throw them in the air themselves and catch them. I will get more.
