The painted cages rust and paint peels within 1-2 years. Horrible for delicate birds. Thought I’d try stainless steel and arrived all bent up from poor packaging. Steer clear.

The family Cockatiel has been though 4 cages, that rust, chip, flake, or we can’t find replacement parts (bowls, feeders, etc) for. All have been horrifically hard to keep clean. The cost of those 4 cages combined was more than this cage which will last a lifetime.
Arrived on time, box slightly dinged up, but everything was well packed inside. Prevue included some extra screws. Assembly was easy and took about 20 minutes. The cage did have some oily residue left on it from manufacturing, I just washed ot down with hot water, dish soap, and a microfiber towel. Gae it a clear rinse and let it dry in the sun.

This cage is quality. Everything fit together perfectly. Input it together myself without help in about an hour. If I had help it would have been a breeze. There were no missing parts or screws. The only thing left is to get my parrot used to it. For now, it is the Big Evil Shiny thing.

Assembly was fine. I don’t care for the latch styles; my caique is not an escape artist so the gravity latches on her old Island cage are fine and much smoother. I misjudged the size, should have ordered a medium not a small even though she spends most of each day out of the cage. Have to wiggle and fuss with feed cups to get out of holders and I wish I could find a decent cage with exterior bays to save interior room. Many little cracks and crevices for debris to hide in, defeats the “easy clean” of stainless. All dimensions are a 1/4 inch short of description.

Excellent quality cage for the price. Workmanship is good. Major disappointment on delivery; Amazon transferred delivery to the USPS…USPS stated they could not deliver to residence due to its heavy weight (45 pounds)…had to pick up at the postal office.

This is not a good cage for a bird, or birds. The reason is because it is tall and narrow. Birds need a cage that is wider than it is tall for them to have healthy movement and activity. A cage like this will just result in the bird staying mostly at the top. Birds are a prey species and they feel safest when they are up high, by using this cage a bird would get minimal exercise within the cage. Cages MUST be wider than they are tall, and always get the biggest cage possible (with appropriate bar spacing) for your species. They should, at the very least, have room to open their wings wide. But bigger is better!
