I have 2 female rats. One full grown, one is still a juvenile. I was worried about the spacing of the bars on this cage after reading other reviews. My older/larger rat tried pretty hard without avail to escape. My small one has not gotten out either, although I’m not sure if it’s just her laid back personality that has made her uninterested in escaping. Over all, this is an amazing cage for the money. It’s huge with plenty of room for my 2 rats to run around. I think you could easily fit 1-3 more rats in it and still have plenty of room. My girls like it and can get lots of exercise. The only complaint I have is the tray on the bottom isn’t very deep. I ended up buying some ferret litter trays that I put in the bottom to prevent litter from getting all over the floor. They work well and make cleaning easier.

we purchased this for our rabbit it was so easy to put together i was able to get it done by myself in about 20 minutes, he really seems happy in it he easily goes between levels and it is easy to clean the pan slides out smooth and rinses for quick cleaning. my only complaint would be the tabs on the level shelves broke on a couple but we just put a couple small holes and zip tied them on quick and easy fix.

Nice And Sturdy,Could Use BETTER ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS, TOOK 2 Hours To Build Because Pictures Provided ARE MISLEADING On The Ramps And Landings, Bottom Latch For Tray Could Be Longer Or Re Engineered, Poop And Pee Catch CAN SLIDE OUT On its Own .OVERALL I LIKE IT But Local Breeder Giving Me a Fit , I Paid $270 For Show Guineas, Which I’m Due to Pick Up From Breeder On December 23Rd 2019 , I Showed Her Picture Of The Cage And She Said Your Add is WRONG ,Is Not Good For Guineas ,Bottom Can’t Be Wire And a Fall From Landing’s Could Be Fatal !! She INSISTS That I Return The Cage !! Have the Feeling that if I Don’t She won’t Give Me The Guineas I Paid 4 And Possibly Try To Keep My Money Stating Cage I Bought is NOT FIT And She Most Likely Lost Any Chance of Re Selling- Also I Would Loose The $92 Dollars I Spent On The Cage Being Local Pet Store Outlets Don’t Sell These GUINEAS BREAD FOR SHOWS , What is Your Return Policy ,I Don’t See ANYWHERE ???

This is a really nice cage. It wasn’t really hard to put together either. Our only problem was that it had been damaged in transit and the bend in the frame made it a little hard to put it in the right slot. I didn’t want to send it back because I needed it right then. So, we made a couple of adjustments and it works ok. I really like how it looks. I have three chinchillas in there and they have enough room. I would recommend if you are going to put an 11inch runner in the cage to do it before you put the top on. Our runner is a little oblong now..lol

The media could not be loaded.

I took a chance reviews were up and down.

My take on this cage!! It’s almost as tall as I am!! I’m almost 5,2!!! I love how sturdy and easy it was to assemble. My ferret babies love it, and seem to go up and down easy!!, hammocks hanging on top!! Worried about accidents of falling off ramps and such.!!

There more active then they have ever been!!!

The three doors… are soo awesome!!

Just want to keep the smell and the bedding in a certain corner to help potty train them.
It’s working I was a little concerned about that. I’m inlove. Others said it wasn’t big enough but in only concerned with them being able to climb!!! And be active in there cage.

If this is your question, I have an answer. This cage was bought for three female rats and it arrived on December 29th, 2017. The instructions are a bit ambiguous and it may require a bit of you just improvising, but once you get a grip it’s pretty easy. My chinchilla wheel fit just right, but the handle for the water bottle was broken. It was a bit rusty, which set me off a bit… but it’s much better than other cages we’ve had. The plastic tray on the bottom is NOT enough for the rats on its own, but I’m going to apply some fleece at the bottom. The rats really enjoy it, and its pretty easy to move around. We were thinking of adding some chicken wire, but as you can see they’re okay for now. The bottle is not enough in my opinion, but the dish is fabulous for food. They have been running around and playing all day.

For the money, it was a great buy. And as far as cages go, it gave my ratties a lot of space many cages do not have. I’d recommend this cage for rat owners whose rats are at their full size, any smaller would be a bad idea.

As someone with other small animals, I can say off the bat that this wouldn’t work for guinea pigs, hamsters (even with chicken wire), mice, small squirrels, small sugar gliders, or any reptiles. This is also not suitable for birds, since the bar spacing is wider than most bird cages should be (snapped necks could be an issue), and the space for them to climb is limited. Unless you chicken wire it, this is absolutely not suitable for any bird… and even with wire cage, don’t home anything larger than a budgie/small parakeet due to the beak strength if you do chose to wire it up.

I have worked for a pet store, and I have my own critters, so I’m quite familiar with animal enclosures.

You need at least two people to put this together. We had three working on it because you have to make sure that the pieces that you just slid together are holding in the right position before you attach the next piece. Naturally, the instructions just give you a general idea of how to do this. TIP: make sure the bottom shorter pieces are set with the two slots facing inward. This is for the bottom piece that slides like a drawer. We got everything done and realized we had to take out one of those pieces and put it in properly for the thing to even stand up. Then when we got that finished we couldn’t figure out the shelves and ramps. The provided plastic pieces seemed to be too small for our cage. So we just made our own shelves out of wood and tacked the black plastic ramps into position. The ferret seems to like the cage and she gets more exercise in this thing but then again ferrets mostly sleep. 🙂
