Although it takes a little work (not much) it’s worth the money to have to dampen it yourself vs buying in a bag.

One brick was enough to fill our 10 gallon tank. It was easy to prepare, and is doing a great job of maintaining the humidity level. Bought the 3-pack because the 2-pack wasn’t going to arrive in time. (Hermit crab birthday present.) I’m glad I did. It was a much better value, and I’m sure we will use the extra in good time.

Way cheaper than eco earth and honestly great substitute. It holds moisture and my crab is thriving in it. One brick does require a lot of water but it creates a lot of soil. Quite messy but it’s dirt. The smell is a little chemically. Definitely recommend using distilled water to activate the soil but spray with salt water to keep it moist.

I always buy this for our 3 hermit crabs, they love to burrow & I’ve never had issues with this coconut fiber bedding. I like to mix with sand, our crabs are happy for the last 3 years. I normally do 6-7 inches deep as you should…they love it.

I use this for my kids two hermit crabs, and the crabs seem to love it. The 3 bricks of this stuff will last a very long time as it expands quite a bit once water is added. All in all, its a great product and a great price.

I think this three-pack is probably going to last us forever! I’ll probably only rehydrate a 1/4 of a brick at a time from now on.
It definitely fluffs up and separates nicely and quickly once you add warm water (think instant mashed potatoes but thicker) but I found that “wringing” the excess water out was a big and messy challenge. I do not recommend attempting this project in your kitchen sink! 🤣🤣
Seems like a great product overall and we can’t wait to see our hermit crabs do their first big dig into it. Thanks!

My hermit crabs love this stuff mixed with their sand. It really helps to hold the moisture in- a major problem we were having. This is a great price. If you deep clean your tank once a month, this is nearly a years worth of substrate (for a 10 gallon tank).
