This is a pretty Oriole feeder but it isn’t well constructed. You can’t get it down without spilling nectar all down your arms and the bottom plate keeps coming off. Nectar spills out where the perches attach, not the feeding holes. (Birds CAN access the nectar through the feeding holes.) It was very inexpensive, however, so I guess it was a “good value”. Cannot recommend.

When it winds the sugar water goes flying out of the feeder. Yesterday I filled it half way. It got windy. I saw from my window what was happening and my deck is now covered with sugar water! Very difficult to clean. Very disappointed in this product. My Scott’s Oriole comes everyday and now I have to order a better one and he might not come back.

I love this feeder. My first one is several years old and still works great. The orange base separates in two pieces to clean. (It unscrews at the seam. The bottle cleans easily with a bottle brush. This feeder doesn’t spill or drip. While it is designed for orioles, hummingbirds have no trouble feeding from it. I only dye the water orange until I see the birds feeding from it. My only issue is that the plastic bottle yellows with age.

This feeder is horribly constructed. I cleaned and filled it today, and got sugar water all over the kitchen when I did. I have many cheap hummingbird feeders that are so much easier to clean (clean feeders are so important). I love the aesthetic of this feeder, the larger perches, and the larger feeding holes for my orioles, but that’s about it, everything else is negative. The filling hole is way too small, maybe an inch wide, my hummingbird feeders have a 2.25-2.5 inch hole, and the “funnel” provided is a joke, you have to slowly pour and stop, wait for it to drain, then pour, stop and wait again. The funnel doesn’t stay put, unless held, and will spill over the side creating a mess. The orange base does open for cleaning, even though the manufacturer says it does not. Just remove the green perches, and unscrew it counterclockwise. I haven’t seen a lot of leaking from the perches, but they do leak when it’s moving in the wind, and the perches also flip upwards in the wind, so you’ll have to knock them down regularly. It’s a pain to clean, even with a baby bottle cleaning wand. The way it’s constructed, the wand doesn’t reach the outer edges of the bottle by the filling hole, as it’s far too narrow there. Honestly, I didn’t see any birds attracted to this feeder at all, my hummers used it as a last resort when I pulled their regular feeders in for cleaning and refilling. I added a pic of a much better constructed hummingbird feeder that costs less than $4, my orioles, hummingbirds and even house finches love and prefer it.

Best feeder for orioles, I found. They like the length of the perches. Won’t use smaller ones. The base does come apart, but over time it can then start to leak, so I opened sparingly. Also, Within the base are the mechanisms for the ports to keep the bugs/bees out, which work wonderfully, but be sure to be gentle when cleaning inside the base. I accidentally bent one and the port no longer closed properly and whenever the bird took off, sugar water poured out of the port and then attract all manner of bugs. For the price, I’m buying a backup for when my second one begins to fail. First one lasted 3-4 years.

Be aware, this feeder does not come with any accessories to hang it. That’s a separate purchase, which is easily overlooked. Other then that, seems like a good feeder
