I have issues with the user interface of the app that allows you to program the colors but once you learn it, it is fairly easy to change. The lights themselves are nice and my wife had fun changing them around. Timer works well.

We expanded our back patio and added a bunch of new furniture and a gazebo. What we didn’t have was enough light in the backyard to illuminate the area. So I picked up these GOVEE lights and strung them up around the gazebo, then stretched them from the gazebo up to my back porch. The lights look great and add good illumination to the area. The colour selection and scenes are fun to watch and experiment with.
I dock a star because the electrical components are only IP65 rated for waterproofness. And the control button on the light string is closer to the lights than to the plug in. It should have been closer to the plug in to allow for better protection from the elements. As it stands these lights will need to be taken down for the winter, as west coast Canadian winters tend to be very wet and I don’t have much faith this product is adequately water rated considering it’s designed to be an outdoor product.
Apart from this issue though, the lights are wonderful and provide a nice ambiance to my outdoor oasis. Recommend.

Only complaint is the transformer is not waterproof and too close to the string of lights so was a bit tricky to make sure it was sheltered from the elements. If you are using an extension cord to plug them into this might be an issue for you.

I replaced a set of warm white LED cafe string lights with these Govee lights. The concept is cool and I’m a big fan of their lights so I thought I knew what to expect. The first thing I noticed was that the lights felt rather, well, light. The old cafe lights I replaced had some heft to each bulb since they were encased in a heavy acrylic. These Govee bulbs are plastic on construction and the cord they are attached with are thin and felt likely to break. I had to buy some 1/8″ steel braided cable to hang the Govee lights. Which brings me to the next issue: each bulb includes a clip on the side of the bulb base. This makes it so that the bulbs do not hang straight down but tilt to one side. In some cases the bulbs actually hang upside down due to their light weight and the twist of the cord they’re on. The plug and controller unit are also not waterproof whatsoever, which required me to buy a separate housing box to keep it all safe and dry. Luckily the housing doesn’t prevent the Bluetooth connection required to get the lights up and running within Govee’s amazing app.
If you’ve used any other Govee lights you know that the app is top tier, allowing easy control and integration with their other lights. A lot of other brands provide hardware that is comparable in quality to Govee, but it’s the software that gives them the edge and it shows. From the unboxing with the nice packaging through the setup and install process, you can’t ask for anything easier.
Despite the complaints I’ve listed, the lights are ultimately very nice and work flawlessly. I’ve had them up around my pool since February and they’ve lasted through multiple days of downpours just fine.

Overall, very happy with my purchase. Better than I hoped for. I had a hard time seeing from the reviews and videos on YouTube just how bright these would be, and I was worried they would be dim. Although the lights are 3 feet apart, I knew that from the specs, and I bought 2 of the 96 feet strands so that I could shorten them with zip ties between each light, to get the distance down to 18 inches. Looks great and that is what I think a perfect spacing now.
Pros:
-Application comes with a ton of really cool preset lighting scenes to choose from
-LED lights are bright
-The price, I mean, why wouldn’t you buy lights with this many features and ability to independently control each LED color? You would easily spend just as much buying dumb lights at any of the big box retail stores that don’t do much of anything other than turn on and off.
Cons:
-The lights are about 3 feet apart.
-I am still figuring out the application, but so far, having problems with a couple of things: The lights when put into a group want to connect over bluetooth instead of Wifi, so can only control them locally with phone and the automation configuration doesn’t seem to work consistently. When configuring the lights wifi, it wants the settings on my ihpone… which means I have to connect my phone to my 2.4Ghz band instead of my 5Ghz which is annoying. It is kind of odd really.
-Not so easy to figure out how to customize your own lighting scheme

I was looking for some lights to not only use at Christmas but to keep up all year for just hanging out on the patio. These Govee lights fit the bill to a T. I had bought one other Govee product at that point (PC lighting) and loved it so I thought I’d give the brand another shot.
These lights (got two strands so 96 feet) work perfectly! They seem to be well made and the ability to connect them to their app makes them so easy to control too! I love these!
Pros:
Seem to be very well made.
Connects easily to the app.
Totally controllable from the app. You can pick different light setups that are on the app (which I did for Christmas as they had like 5 different themes you could do premade) or you can totally make your own rules. You can control every individual light and have it be whatever color you want. It’s a little bit of a pain to do but I messed around with it and had some cool patterns going.
My favorite part is I have the lights set up on a timer. Every day at 4pm the lights come on and they turn back off at 11:30pm. I never do a thing unless I want to change something.
You can even open the app and turn them on like at noon (dark rainy day) and they’ll turn on and then it goes into the scheduling and turns off at the 11:30 mark. Very cool!

Cons:
Just two things I can think of…
1) You can only turn them on or off unless you use the app ( and only white steady on) so if you hate having to use apps I’d leave these alone.
2) The controller that is between the end of the light strand and then the power cord doesn’t appear to be waterproof. I wouldn’t trust that it is anyway. Kinda weird when they are outdoor lights. I bought a waterproof box to keep it watertight. You can barely see the box in the bottom right of my picture.

Look nowhere else. These are THE best outdoor lights. I’ve bought three 96ft sets. The cords and bulbs are both sturdy. It’s easy to set up. The free phone app to control them is also easy to use and comes with dozens of preset lighting modes. You can set each bulb’s color individually, you can get the app to generate different lighting modes with color and movement, or you can go in depth and create whatever lighting mode and movement pattern you want. Once you create a DIY lighting mode, it is available in the diy library for all your strings. (Each 96ft set of strings is controlled separately so you can do different things or the same thing on different sets, up to you.) You can control everything: speed, brightness, time to automatically turn on and off, etc.
Honestly it’s just a lot of fun. And so much higher quality than most outdoor string lights, honestly the best I’ve ever tried. Definitely worth a little extra money to get lights that are reliable AND fun.

As mentionned by others, the lamps are great and the app works just fine (Tested on android).
Simple to adjust from your phone on the go and fairly easy to use. The colors and brightness are fine, the little hooks built on each lamp base make it for an easy setup.
Again, as mentionned by others just be careful to keep the plug and built in controller out of the water despite the ratings.
