Update 9/8/23 – I had a factory defect with the regulator on my heater. Make sure you check it after install with soapy water to ensure there are no leaks. I ended up replacing it with a different model that has a slightly longer hose and braided cover rather than waiting for a warranty replacement. The manufacturer also contacted me about the wight kit and ensured me a new upgraded kit is being released and I’ve arranged for one to be shipped to me when it’s available. Great customer support overall.

I really like the heater overall. I purchased the mushroom style in stainless, which looks good and should hopefully last many years. Heat output from it is amazing. I can feel it on my skin from 10 feet away and it’s actually overbearing at less than 3 feet. Once winter arrives I should get a lot of use out of it both for keeping warm and keeping the ice at bay on my deck.
However, it really needs a weight kit included. The model intended for this heater is out of stock with no estimated shipment dates, and the heater is not going to stay upright in fall and winter storms unless I surround it with sandbags and tie it to one of the deck posts when not in use. I’m not saying it’s unstable, but that top reflector, even with a cover over it, is going to act like a sail and we get 30 MPH winds here regularly in storms. Not sure if there’s anywhere that doesn’t get at least 30 MPH winds occasionally. An included weight kit would at least reduce the amount of unsightly bags and tie downs I’ll need to use during storms. As it is, I’ll probably keep at least two sandbags bracketing it at all times due to inability to even purchase one.

Eastoak came through. They sent me a replacement burner assembly. The heater is working fine.

Assembly was a snap. Manual is excellent. (Only thing I would recommend to East Oak is to make some i
mages larger). All holes aligned very well. No pushing or hammering required.
I spent more time removing the protective coating from top aluminum skirt, and the base cover that houses the propane cylinder.
It lit up right away.
Very pleased with the product.
Yesterday I installed the reflector panels.I have some observations.I recommend that the support bracket should be provided with SLOTS instead of HOLES to attach them to the screws that support the top burner assembly. It becomes very difficult to align the bolts correctly (you have to remove 2 to attach the support bracket). I struggled. Ended up with attaching only one side of that bracket.
another observation is that there could be DOWEL pins provided at the pipe joints for perfect alignment. I see that there is a PLAY in the scres, and the vertical alignment can be slightly off, and becomes noticeable because of the long vertical structure of the torch.

This is the Best Pyramid Heater we have owned. The full stainless steel keeps it looking great and rust free. The product works great and was easy to assemble with great instructions. After installation, the heater immediately came on and provided excellent heat for our outdoor patio. I also had an issue with a broken glass and damaged heat deflector that happened after I had used the heater and the East Oak team provided excellent customer service and replaced both. Great product and excellent customer service!

Our old patio heater finally gave out this year. This new one by East Oak may cost a little more, but it puts out more heat, seems solidly constructed and really looks good. This model comes with the hollow plastic dead-weight (fastened under the base), which I learned some heaters do not include anymore. I use clean play sand ( a hardware store purchase ) instead of water. The heater lights and works perfectly. I like the large side holes for accessing the tank valve, without having to lift the base/tank cover. We also purchased the East Oak nylon weather cover which seems well made, fits nicely and we hope will extend the life of the heater. One last thing…. Packaging is very good (not completely styrofoam free, but much less than I imagined) and breaking down the cardboard for recycling went easily. Assembly instructions are very good. Everything is mapped out for nuts and bolts…. nice documentation. Please use quality tools for assembly, take your time, it will make a difference.

I bought this to use on our patio for gatherings and parties. Our first use was in January when the outside temperature was about 60 degrees. I was sitting about 10 feet away from the heater and felt comfortable. It was easy to assemble and worked the first time without issue. It does lean a little to one side, but not enough to bother me.
