I really like Star Wars, but this is a stain on the Sega. So I only have one thing to say: plech plech plech!

    PLECH!

Nothing is customizable and the new world can’t be edited (at least without cheats)… They added new alien skins and I thought I’d be able to make a custom alien character but it turns out they’re just alien “costumes,” and only their hands are “painted” with alien skin color and if they wear a short shirt their human skin shows through. I can’t even wear my own clothes going to Batuu, so I’m forced to wear the ugly clothes that came with the pack. It’s also very linear gameplay just doing a few missions then you did everything the pack has to offer. All of the customization options that I expected from a Sims game ever since previous installments 20 years ago… Every standard and expectation from a Sims game is lacking here.

I did buy this willingly, yes, and I don’t know what I was expecting. I am not a Star Wars fan but wanted a completed Sims 4 add-ons collection. I know, I know, I should have saved my money. The items are fine, and even include some industrial pieces that I quite like, but the gameplay is lacking.

Even from the lens of a Star Wars fanatic, I don’t see why this exists. There are plenty of other Star Wars games that offer so much more content. I played the pack gameplay, just to see, and was disappointed. Within ten minutes I had already explored all the areas and exhausted all the new content.

I rate this a 2/10, and its only that high because I love the new hanging decor. I don’t know what the Sims team was thinking!

There are some nice, unique build/buy objects in this pack. The world looks very Star Wars, which I guess is cool–but if you want Star Wars, you should play a Star Wars game, not try to shoehorn it (badly) into the Sims. This is the first pack I’ve ever gotten where I couldn’t even bring myself to play through the basic features. I got bored after about two stupid fetch quests. So yeah. Maybe pick it up on sale if you’re interested in the items. Some of the floor tiles are great, for instance.

First, Online Game Code is the best and likely safest way to buy a game off the net. Fast too.
Second, Journey to Batuu had a somewhat interesting background. Disney wanted to bring Star Wars to their parks and the first idea, or so I have been told, was to built a small section based on Tatooine. You know, someplace EVER fan knows. But it was decided to, in fact, instead use Batuu. A place that didn’t even exist in the Star Wars universe until Disney needed it – around 2015. Once created it was shoved into as many books and other Star Wars material as much as they could. without looking too desperate. Sadly when the parks opened in 2019 they didn’t have all the rides working and due to overestimating how big the crowds would be Disney had told people not to come. So…people didn’t come. Add bad reviews and the fact the parks were kind of boring and Galaxy’s Edge did somewhat badly. And that was before 2020.
Now enter the Evil EA. Who, having a deal with Disney about Star Wars game, which is about to run out soon, tossed out a Star Wars Pack, not nobody wanted, for Sims 4. So, how does it hold up? Well, I am a Sci-fi fan in general and have grown up with Star Wars. But I am not a hard core fan so I will just tell it like it is.
The world has three paths you can follow, First Order, the Resistance, or the Smugglers. So you can play the story line three times. A lot of it is side quests in which you pick a choice. Think of it of a bad Choice-Your-Own-Adventure book. Plus most of the builds are rabbit-holes on shells.
Now, if you like to build this Pack may be worth the items and objects you can use to build restaurants, houses, and other buildings. But unless you are a Star Wars fan it isn’t worth it. In fact, even if you are a Star Wars fan you might find it too shallow. Also the cost is equal, unless on sale, to the price of a stand-alone Star Wars game. So if you want Star Wars get Star Wars game or book. If you want to visit Batuu wait till it is safe to visit the parks OR grab one of the books with it as a setting.
In other words move along, move along. This is not the pack you are looking for.

I really shouldn’t rate this, but seeing as how it took me nearly 8 Sim days for my Sim to do all the things that they wanted to do, it was time well spent. Unfortunately, after transferring the household over to a new save file, they lost everything except for their Batuu reputation.
