This is the review I did when these filters were sold in “packs of 2” There are some mistakes which i will highlight in brackets.
These filters (PL20195) were bought as a replacement for the Toyota filters that are found on the 2.5L D-4D diesel engine in the Toyota Hilux pickup truck. They are of a very high quality as judged by the sealing gasket, the anti-drain back valve and its weight.
Filter is being used with Mobil 1 Delvac 15W-40 (edit: it was actually 5W-40) Fully Synthetic engine oil and the engine noise has certainly reduced from its previous dino based lubricant.
In my country, the Toyota dealership(TTTL) charges about US$28 for one filter; purchasing online and having the filters shipped cost me about US$13 for one.
I highly recommend this filter as a high quality replacement that doesn’t break the bank or if you plan to extend oil drain intervals.
Now the technical stuff for people that want to know:
PL20195 = PL20064 minus the pressure relief bypass valve (exactly the same dimensions)
PL20195 is a longer version of the PL10241
PL20064 is a longer version of the PL10028 (edit: the PL10028 doesn’t have an antidrainback valve)
The larger the filter usually means:
1)that it takes longer for the oil pump to fill it.
2)that there is more filter medium to trap more contaminants out of your oil
3)that the oil will pass through the filter medium slower
4)theoretically that a higher RPM will be required to activate the filter bypass valve (which means that you can rev your engine slightly higher without the oil bypassing the filter medium) – this really depends on the PSI that the pressure relief valve was designed with, but if a small filter and a larger filter have the same PSI value for the “relief” then this theory should hold true.
Today the filter is currently being used with Shell Rimula R4 15W-40 for 8000Km oil change intervals

It’s an oil filter. It filters oil. It’s not a rock catcher. Are there better filters? Sure. If you can snag this one on sale, though – I’ve picked up a few at around 40% off here – they’re great. I use this as a replacement for a Toyota YZZD3 filter. If your car takes a PL10241-/YZZD1-size filter, check if you can use this larger filter.

Excellent filter in basically every category. Great price-point for a filter that also boasts some of the best filtration rates in the industry (99.9% @ 20 microns!). Comes with a nice, grippy yellow coating to make removal and installation easier. Build quality is superb. Will absolutely be purchasing more to use in the future.
I installed this as an oversized filter on my 2014 Focus ST and it was a perfect perfect. The ST normally takes 5.7 quarts but using this oversized filter takes that up to 6 quarts even. I used Mobil 1 5w-30 Full Synthetic with this filter and my oil pressure shows the same psi as the OEM Motorcraft filter that came on the car so I feel very comfortable running this filter long term. Ford calls for the FL910S filter but a lot of ST guys are using the FL400S due to it being about twice the size, this filter is Purolators version of the FL400S.

Purolator BOSS is the BEST oil filter on the market. It is EXTREMELY hard to find. Only AMAZON and Purolator own website sell it.
I use Purolator BOSS oil filter with AMSOIL SYNTHETIC SIGNATURE series 5W-30 oil with SYNTHETIC LUCUS OIL Stabilizer and I can go 22,000 KM between Oil changes on my 1999 Toyota 4 RUNNER LIMITED with 892,472 KM .
It was cheaper on AMAZON than their own website.
Give me Deals like 10%-20% off and I will continue to spend $2,000 on Amazon stuff.

I order this filter for my PT Cruiser and the first one came with a dent close to the rubber seal. They send me a second one without hesitation. The filter case is sturdy and works as should be. The perfect combination for sintetic oil. For years I use purolator oil filters an never fail.

I use this model on my Craftsman GT5000 tractor and since it’s longer than the original filter, it should be cleaning more contaminants out of the oil. It works just like the original filter. Spin it on, run it until you need a new one, then replace it.
