Great build quality but its definitely heavy, not the best option for long term survival if youre counting your grams, but for the camping trips i take and the general use ill put it through its great! I just need to learn how to use it fully. **Insert land nav class needed** lol

Excellent compass, despite so many negative reviews, but one must keep in mind that No Compass Needle Points North.
A compass needle points to Magnetic North. To know True North, check the Magnetic Declination for your area. Where I am, it’s 13⁰West. Knowing this, I took it outside on a clear night, lined it up with Polaris, and…TA DAH!, the needle was pointing 13⁰West of the North Star.
I’d say that’s pretty accurate. Dead on, in fact.
The Attitude Indicator scale is a nice little extra, and if you learn the formulae (included in the instructions and molded into the case), you can determine approximate Range and Elevation.
Overall, if you’re looking for an accurate field compass, or one for orienteering, This. Is. It.

Man this thing is heavy! 10+ ounces. If that doesn’t sound like much you probably don’t backpack. In which case you’ll probably really like this thing. It’s solid, seems to be well made and comes with a well written and comprehensive set of instructions. But since there is no way to accommodate magnetic declination you’re going to be dealing with magnetic north & not true north. Includes a conversion table on the back (that requires better eyesight than mine), a clinometer that is somewhat dubious: accurate at 0 degrees, 3 degrees off at 45. Also pendulum is often in the way when you try to close the compass. Comes with a drawstring bag that would be more useful with a belt loop … And if I had paid $100 for this, which is not hard to do for a quality US made magnesium cased lensatic it would be going back. But for less than $20 this is a keeper. A great beginner compass or perfect if you’re prone to loosing things in the wilderness.

I do not hike, but I use the compass to help with the setup of my Telescope. You not only have the needle to refer to directions, but you also have the azimuths in a window to help with accurate alignment. This tool will be useful for years to come. Additionally, it is made from a light metal. I got the black one. It also comes in a nice pouch for storage. Great Tool!

Der Kompas ist sehr Gut , man sollte aber immer Bestimmte Richtlinen einhalten.
1) Kompas nicht in der Nehe von Metalen und Magneten ( Handys , Elektro Geräte ) Benutzen.
2) Den kompas immer mit der Wasserwage ausrichten !
3 ) Der Kompas Läst sich auf ein Stative einschrauben ( Foto Stative ) , Somit kommt der Volle Anwendungsbereich zur geltung.
Er ist zwar Schwer aber sehr Gut in den Funtionen , die Relevant sind.

La bussa di grandi dimensioni è robusta e ben costruita. I tool inclusi per un corretto posizionamento e misurazioni sono molto efficienti . Rispetto ad altre bussole similari avute in passato, per me questa è la migliore.
