Nikon 8252 Aculon A211 10-22×50 Zoom Binoculars

This pair of binoculars, although slightly on the pricier side, is extremely useful and a must have for wildlife enthusiasts, especially birders. The binoculars has excellent image clarity and even in low light, objects, birds such as owls perched high up in the canopy can be spotted without much difficulty. Very easy to use.
Some cons I could think of that are that:
1) it could have been slightly smaller and lighter but I personally did not find it a constraint to use.
2) the lens covers at both ends should have some feature to remain attached to the binoculars itself. This is important because when walking through forests and jungles, the branches may scratch against the lenses. I, could easily carry the covers in my pant pockets, but it is an minor inconvenience.
3) The binocular case is of good quality but lacks a handle or a strap. Putting a strap to the case would have made carrying the binoculars easier and also solved the above problem.

But that does not prevent me giving the product a 5 star rating. It performs its primary functions extremely well- Awesome picture clarity, low light vision and ease of use.

Compared to cheaper binoculars the quality of the optics of this one is noticed

I cannot compare to more expensive ones but with lot cheaper with same magnification and little more cheap with similar magnification these are clearly superior and not too expensive

Subtracted a star because they appear to be delicate, but optics wise a solid option

If you want something for every day bird watching, distance viewing, or hunting from a blind, then this is a great choice! A deck or window with a big wide hillside view is the perfect place for the Nikon A211 10×50 binocular.

For me, it’s a little bit bigger than I’d want to carry while hiking or hunting, but that bulkiness also provides a clear and reasonably bright image compared to many other binoculars in this price range. It’s a full size frame, and probably wouldn’t survive a fall more than a few feet. As with all binoculars, those long objective lens housings are famous for getting knocked out of alignment. For walking and active watching or spotting, it would certainly be better to go with a compact binocular. If you do carry these, a neck strap or a chest pack would be the way to go. A wrist strap would get heavy and the bulky size would become an issue.

The optics are bright and clear. The edges of the image are not clouded or fish bowl distorted like cheaper binoculars. The distance focusing is better than expected at this price range, and I’d recommend these as a standard for daytime viewing. The clarity and image color might not make the hair on your neck stand up, but if you’ve never used an extremely high quality binocular, these might give you the shivers. lol..

A true 10 power binocular of this quality, is well worth $120-$150 to a serious user, especially if you’re using them according to their intended purpose. You would pay a lot more for this quality of image with other brand names. Though 10 power can be handheld, it’s about the upper limit of a handheld. A tripod notably improves image stabilization at 10x. As a rule I don’t like trying to hold anything over 10 power in my hands, so that makes the Nikon A211 10×50 binocular my number one recommendation, for best all-around daily use, and for people with steady hands.

We purchased this binocular recently. We have the Nikon Action EX 8 x 40, which we absolutely love
for birding and nature activities. The minimum focusing distance on this binocular, the Acculon A211, is 49.2 feet. It will be used, along with a tripod, for stargazing and mountain viewing. The weather has not cooperated very much for stargazing, but from what we have been able to see, the images are sharp, the stars are pinpoint and we will update after viewing the moon and planets. We expect to be able to see the moons of Jupiter and possibly some semblance of the rings around Saturn. The view of our moon from our smaller Nikon binocular, allows us to see the craters on the leading edge, almost as good as a small telescope. We have higher expectations for this larger pair of binoculars, particularly when zoomed in. The binoculars are not particularly heavy, the grip is nice and they are water resistant, although I think not waterproof. I did want to mention that there is a trick to using the eyepiece cap. TURN DOWN THE RUBBER ON THE EYEPIECES, as is instructed if you wear glasses. The single unit eyepiece cap will fit perfectly if you do this. A tripod is a necessity for viewing objects at higher magnification. The daytime views appear to be sharp and there are adjustments for central focus, diopter and a 10-22x zoom lever.
The Interpupillary Distance is 56-72 mm. The tripod adapter is included with the binocular. Overall, this seems to be a decent unit and will update the review in the future.
