FLISSA 16-in-1 Stainless Steel Multi-Tool with Pliers

This multi purpose tool works pretty well. It’s very similar to the leatherman skeletool. The feel, look design and layout are very similar. It’s not identical but, it is similar.

The tool is moderately light weight making it pretty easy to use. The tool is a little stiff at the joints and the unlocking switch. When opening the tool to use the needle nose Pilars or the wire cutter the tool is a little stiff with some strong resistance. I am hoping this wares down with regular use.

This multi purpose tool does come with a can opener, wire cutter, Pilars, two knives (one large with a saw at the back and one small), a nail file, scissors, a Philips and flat head screw driver and a circular tool that I’m honestly not familiar with (my husband says it a lanyard?). I do also appreciate that the tool comes with a really nice nylon sheath thats easy to use as well as a nice little pocket clip for easy quick accessible. The knives are pretty sharp but could be sharpened to be more efficient. I’ve been using my tool none stop for opening boxes and it works great for my daily use. It’s also easy to clean which I do really appreciate. The scissors work well for quick use on the go like cutting loose threads or little things. On first use I did find that the knife can get locked up and difficult to unlock to store away. The release lock can get a little stuck and take a little effort to release the lock on the knife.

As the multi tool breaks in it does work well. I must also mention that I do LOVE the pink color and look of this tool. Overall I am enjoying this tool. It’s great for on the go use or regular daily use. It’s definitely a functional useful multi tool to have. It does require a break in period for the hinges and locks to become more fluid and smooth. Other than that I’m really enjoying using this tool! It’s definitely a good thing to have on the go or around the house! Would happily recommend!

It used to be that you’d have to pay over $100 to get a good functional multitool. Given that there are now some great multitools out there at a much more reasonable price point, I have picked up a few to keep in my toolbox, at my workbench, in the office, and in my Jeep. While I still like my trusty old Leatherman, I recently picked up one from BIBURY that I really love. I am using the Leatherman and the BIBURY as a basis of comparison for this nice offering from FLISSA.

First, Size. When closed, the overall dimensions of the FLISSA are comparable to the Leatherman and BIBURY. The FLISSA is a bit narrower and lighter, but not in a bad way. It makes it a bit more compact and easier to hold when closed. The dimensions of the pliers are also fairly comparable, though the BIBURY are slightly larger and wider. The fold out tools in the FLISSA are noticeably smaller than both the BIBURY and the Leatherman. The primary blade is about the size of the smaller blade you would commonly find in most dual blade pocket knives. The scissors on the FLISSA are about the same size as those on the Leatherman. The FLISSA is a bit lighter than the Leatherman and a lot lighter than the BIBURY. This is actually nice if you plan to carry it with you when camping, hiking, biking, etc.

Next, build quality. When I ordered the FLISSA, I was somehow under the impression that the colored part was some kind of plastic. I was pleasantly surprised to find this is not the case. It’s colored metal, which looks great and seems durable. Out of the box, the build quality of the FLISSA appears to compare well to the Leatherman and BIBURY. The fold out tools are a bit tight, but tolerances seem good. I expect they will loosen a bit over time. I cannot yet speak to durability as I have not yet stressed the FLISSA in the same ways I have the Leatherman and BIBURY.

Finally, Functionality. This is where the FLISSA falls a bit behind the Leatherman and BIBURY. The FLISSA has far fewer tools than the Leatherman and BIBURY. While the tools that are included are the ones most commonly used by most folks, they are a bit on the smaller side, which somewhat limits their functionality. A key feature that the Leatherman and BIBURY offer that is lacking in the FLISSA is an screwdriver with interchangeable bits. While the FLISSA does provide multiple fixed screwdriver options on the tips of a number of its fold out tools, it doesn’t compare to the flexibility of having interchangeable bits. Another feature that the Leatherman and BIBURY provide that is lacking in the FLISSA is one handed opening of the primary blades. The FLISSA requires the use of two hands to open all the tools, including the primary blade. One feature of the FLISSA that I really like is the blade locking mechanism. It has a sliding mechanism readily accessible on the side of the handle which is easy to operate and keeps the tools confidently locked in the open position.

Overall, I find the FLISSA multitool to be a great value at it’s price point. While it doesn’t provide the same degree of functionality as some of the more expensive options out there, it appears to be very well made and makes for a very good basic multi-tool.

Absolutely obsessed with this! It stays in my purse, and I’ve used it for EVERYTHING! Incredibly versatile & durable, super easy to use, and for the money spent, far exceeds my expectations!
