Daniele –
I bought this mute for my 3/4 viola. It fits lengthwise but evidently my bridge is too thick because the mute just kinda sits on top unless I shove it all the way down. Not ideal. More importantly, it doesn’t mute my viola AT ALL. There is absolutely no diminishment in sound. Boo!
Carole Feldman –
I have housemates so I can’t always practice when I want to unmuted as my instrument has a very powerful voice. This mute allows me to get in my 3 hours a day without hearing a bunch of whining as it cuts the volume down to about a quarter of unmuted.
Dordaneh Sugano –
I bought this to replace my old rubber mute which was very solid. This one mutes the sound a little but not nearly as much as I was expecting. Not surprising given how light it feels. It’s good for sort of mild sound dampening but nothing significant (ie if you live in an apt with rather thin walls)
Amazon Woman –
I needed something a little more substantial than this. There was really not much reduction in volume. I don’t want to disturb my neighbors and this rubber mute just wasn’t effective.

I absolutely love this product and so does my family. I don’t have to hear from my kids or my wife about how loud my violin is anymore? Happy wife happy life!
Suslik –
Great quality. Exactly what I was looking for
Pizzletini –
I bought this to replace a mute that I thought was too small. This one is smaller than the one I have. It does not fit a 4/4. To the seller: Get your inventory organized please. Don’t waist our time this way.
Nomns –
Not bad! but the design is a bit smaller and doesn’t curve on the bridge as it should. Probably used on commercial or beginner’s bridges will work better. Still a good option
David Lee –
Sulid rubber, square slots means it barely touches the strings and not at all evenly. I added some soft craft foam so it contacts all the strings and mutes properly.
Kindle Customer –
A good product in my opinion! Easy to put on the bridge of the violin. Easy to take off.
Sturdy and good.
Thank You!
Pecan –
Neat

This item is as expected and fits on my violin well. We will see how the people in the other rooms react to what is my attempts at learning to play. It does seem to reduce the db.
