Awesome set! I’ve played a Roland and the response trigger is better on the Yamaha. Feals good for mid level. Who wants to spend 5 or 8k for a hobby. Module could be more durable looking.

Gonna make this quick as I made a super long review and got erased, but as simple as this, I’ve tried alesis, Roland 11 and 15, and own this 562k, this is the only one with 100% response triggering That ive played, this works as an acoustic kit always period, as good I Will use it at live shows without fear of false response or fake triggering, or note missing.
Havent tried roland Td-30 or Hart dynamics, but this is so good , I dont even have the curiosity to do so, this works as an acoustic kit has 8 real sampled drum kits of yamahas top end that sound like top DW models, thats enough for me, if you are not of the obssesive type That needs 1000000 sounds and all That extras, this works perfectly for the most ambicious drummer. I’ll put it this way, if you have a kit worth thousands of dollars you will have a great sounding one and you ll be happy with it, here I have 8 drumsets, I trully love,The maple, oak, birch, beech and others, but consider they are masterfully tunned and equalized by yamaha experts as engineers, it comes with 50 and its easy to love them all, I’m just too ambicious and i still absolutley love 8, best drum kit at its price point period. In sound, response, triggering and feel , which is whats important on any kit, as good as any of the big boys no need to spend more. And believe me I’ve tried every kit except for roland td-30 and the Yamaha 900 series. They are literally 2 -4 times the value of this kit though.
PROS – everything
CONS – None
Robert Harmon –
sounds great
Blake glover –
Great coaching programs. High quality lots of zones great pad and cymbal feel.
Dildo Baggins –
Not a bad kit for the money but if you plan on adding a 3 zone cymbal you cant- there is only one dedicated crash input. In retrospect the dtx700 would have been a better bet as the brain itself is 700 dollars. You can add single zone cymbals and maybe ill have luck getting two cymbals to work using the snare input and moving the snare over.

Got this item for my fiancé. He is so in love with it. He can play his drum as loud as he like and it doesn’t interfere with the rest of the household. It was very easy to put together.
John Sharp –
Missing kicker, shows a kicker in the picture. Can’t play it unless I spend more money for a kicker, I wouldn’t have got this without one if I had known, seems shady

Very nice drum kit. I have the Zildjian Gen 16 E-cymbals so I cannot comment on the cymbal pads or sounds. The drum sounds are better than Roland’s because they are actual samples of acoustic drums and Yamaha acoustic drums at that ! Having said that, imo the Rolands are easier to program/edit, but wait………Yamaha came out with the new DTX502 Touch App for the IPad/iPhone, now it is just as easy if not easier to edit sounds/create user kits, etc. The pads are less bouncy than the mesh heads found on a Roland. I will say this though, I do like the processed and electronic sounds on the Rolands better but since you can download samples to the 502, it’s all good. I have and play both this kit and a Roland Vdrum kit. I like both of them but for a mid price kit, I think the Yamaha 502 is more bang for the buck so if I had to choose, I would get the DTX 502 over any of the Roland mid price kits. The weak spot here if I were to nit pick is the kick pad. It’s OK but I couldn’t fit my DW double pedal right so that was kinda of a let down but a very minor one.
