I found my Buffett E11 in the basement. It is made in “WEST” Germany and almost 30 years old.
While the original mouthpiece still works fine, I found this J&D Hite H111 works BETTER, at least for me (armature player).
This proves some other comments in the reviews are true:
There is a good chance that this low-cost mouthpiece will work better than the original on an entry-level clarinet for a student player like me.

Arrived with the case cracked and looking a little crusty/ dusty not sure if it’s been used prior. Needed right away to see if clarinet was in tune before buying more replacement parts. As we have a used soloist. It doesn’t feel too much different, than a regular mouth piece save it be the sticker on the top. daughter had some trouble playing ( first time playing), but I was able to hit the notes which was surprising as I haven’t played in 20 years. (Good news is everything was tuned great. I’m just not that impressed I guess. And really have concerns about the packaging and if it was used prior or not.

The mouthpiece is very nice quality. It incorporates a tooth gaurd on top and is very comfortable and sounds great on our clarinet

Bought this to replace the mouthpiece that came with my instrument. I didn’t want to spend half the price of the instrument just on a new mouthpiece. After some research, I came across this and figured it was worth a shot. This instantly improved my tone and was easier to play. I also like the feel of the mouthpiece protection that comes on it.

I broke my original mouthpiece and needed one very quick. I ordered this one with hopes it would work with my 20 year old clarinet. It fits perfectly! It took a few times to get to used to the protective cover on top of the mouthpiece, but I am glad it’s there. My other mouthpiece was worn out from playing and had tooth grooves in it. I would have preferred to have a ligature with the mouthpiece since my old one doesn’t seem to fit it as well. But it works fine.

Replaced original plastic Selmer mouthpiece. Quite a difference. This mouthpiece requires very little effort and sounds fantastic. At this price- it is astonishing. If you have a plastic mouthpiece and feel like you could use an upgrade, this is a great choice

This mouthpiece will help get beginners “over the hump” after they’ve started learning clarinet for a few months. I got it for my niece, and she immediately sounded clearer and louder and more in tune. This is the first upgrade any parent should be looking at to help their beginner clarinet player.

I am a certified, practicing music teacher with a masters degree. Clarinet is my primary instrument. This is an excellent mouthpiece for the price. Admittedly, it is not the mouthpiece I choose for myself (The tone is a bit bright for me). However, for $30, it is a huge upgrade from the stock mouthpiece that your clarinet came with. I recommend this mouthpiece to all my students because it is affordable and you will instantly hear/feel a difference. If you really want to make an even bigger difference- try pairing it with a bonade inverted ligature.

And- as I’ve seen many people commenting on this issue- it will fit any standard Bb clarinet. Though if it’s an older instrument the joints may be a bit loose, And a newer instrument you may find the joints tight (this will improve with time and cork grease). A qualified repair technician (or your kids band director) will be able to help. If you encounter this issue it is in no way the mouthpieces fault.
