Ok, so the strings play well and can hold in tune for a while (I have a Floyd rose with locks so it doesn’t really matter that much on that guitar). My only problem with it is that they say the paint will hold onto the string, but if you play them enough, it will start peeling off. I didn’t even play it that long and they already started to fade. What’s good about this is that you can tell when you need to change the strings out, but because these are a little more expensive than simple Ernie Balls, I would rather pay for a box set of those because they last a lot longer. I’m holding on with the two sets I have though, until they are absolutely unplayable. Because yes, when you first string em up, they look pretty badass.

Maybe I just need to get used to them, but they definitely feel different than the non coated strings. They sound alright, hold tune alright. The high e string is quite dull and the last one wasn’t, but this one is thinner maybe it’s the pickup not being ose enough I dunno, but overall happy with them.

Excelentes cuerdas de calidad tanto en manufactura como sonido y de aspecto increíble. Recomiendo completamente.

First off let me start by saying I have a lot of guitars and of course strings go with the territory, I have tried many. Let’s be fair, I play Metal and Hard Rock mostly, but I also play Classic Rock and some Blues. I have played a lot different strings, some I liked for different reasons, if I am playing a guitar with a 25.5 scale I like GHS LXL strings. I just recently started playing Les Paul guitars and needed a string that would accommodate the new 24.75 scale because the scale is shorter the strings need to be larger to help with tension and tuning stability. I have tried Elixirs in the past they are ok, they sound a little dull and they do degrade or lose the coating fast at the picking area. I decided to try these as I had been told they hold up well. Man they were right! You do have to be careful when you string them up as you can wear off or peel off the coating anywhere there is friction at the metal, i.e. string trees, bridges and the ferrules where the string may come from the top on some guitars where the strings are loaded from the back. Once they are on, and tuned, they are incredible! I have been playing on this one set for about two weeks (about 2 hours a day) and the other set about a week ago at (about 2 hours a day) as well. They have help up well and they really sound great. I love to play heavy and use a lot of harmonics, these strings do not disappoint. All strings wear out, this is just a fact. These look great, sound great and last longer than most. Any way you look at it they are a fine investment. CJWII

arrivate in 2 giorni, suonano benissimo e al momento non perdono il colore, consigliate per i manici in acero chiaro…danno un tocco in più all estetica della chitarra e si vedono subito per toccarle, consigliate.

these will probably always be my favorite go-to guitar strings. the black coating does seem to wear off quickly where the strings are picked, but i feel like it’s worth it having black strings on a black guitar.

I thought these would be cool looking on my Line 6 Variax 300, being that it’s black with a black pick guard, no visible pickups, and rosewood fretboard. And it did look awesome until the second time I was playing them when the black finish started flaking off of the high E and B string. Now it looks like the strings are dirty. I ordered a set of their bass strings for my SR300DX, but I’m sending them back given this poor experience.
They play and sound fine, but the one thing I need them to do is retain their color. Since they can’t do they, they’re being replaced after only a few weeks.

These strings set my guitars off…at least in my opinion!

When I heard about the strings that would look so cool on a new gray guitar I bought well I checked them out and came to find Black Beauties was the strings to have. So I put a set price isn’t that bad. They arrived the next day I put them on wow they sounded great I like a skinner string than most ppl A .7 if I can get it but nothing over .9 and I do go through A lot of strings I have 15 guitars so I buy a lot of strings and they all get played. So 5 days they were put on time playing with them 6 hours of playing coating is coming off Low-e and B. Low-e is half dead and the B makes a strange sound that Like it just died in 6 hours of playtime. Really 6 hours I have bought 2.50 strings better than this true story no JB stuff here. I still have on at least 5 guitars with 2$ and fifty cents sets of strings that sound as good as when I put them on the guitars 3 or 4 months ago and have been played way more than these Black Beauties will ever see. But never again.

Sound great and look so sexy on a black guitar! Coating seems to want to stay even after 12+ hours of play.

Black wears off eventually, but DR makes great strings. Have used them for years.
