I have one Squier Bullet Strat, an Ibanez SR400 bass, and an Ibanez SRC6. This thing worked incredibly well at tuning all three. However, my experience using the tuner’s Strobe Mode with my SRC6 made this easily THE best tuner I’ve ever owned. The SRC6 is a short scale bass that has six strings, but is unique in that the strings have nearly identical spacing to a standard six-string guitar, as well as having the same tuning (EBGDAE), albeit an octave lower.
Intonating my SRC6 (Six from here out) was an absolute nightmare with my Super Snark, and even my Zoom pedal’s built-in tuner. Even TUNING the bass was obnoxious with the Snark, as the reading would shift from flat to sharp with only a millimeter or two turn on the low E tuning peg. While I could get it pretty dialed in using the Zoom pedal, trying to set the intonation on that string proved an absolute nightmare for the pedal (and don’t even think about the Snark).
In comes the Polytune’s Strobe Mode. Not only does this mode really pinpoint the sweet spot for tuning the open string, it was also able to show me the intonated 12th fret FAR more accurate than anything I’ve seen. Thanks to that, I finally was able to get Six intonated damn near perfectly.
Despite the (shared) gripe about the tuner auto-turning off (which is a bit annoying when trying to fine tune or intonate), this tuner blew me away so thoroughly, that I just ordered another one for my best friend, because it’s such a pleasure to use. I’ll definitely be buying more of these in the future if the one I got ever breaks down.

I love this little thing! I never use the polytune feature, where you can strum once and know which string to focus on tuning. I always check each string individually. And for this purpose, this tuner is awesome! Worth spending a bit extra. Nice, big, easy-to-read display. Doesn’t bounce around a lot. It’s not “noisy.” Get one! 🙂

I’ve used and still own several of what they call a “Super Tight” tuner and they are just fine and accurate enough but this TC product is a pleasure to use as well as a bit more noticeably accurate…
I have more accurate and expensive strobe tuners but with my slight intonation errors as well as minute fret wearing we can only tune to our best ability, then I do my final precision tuning with my ears accepting what I feel sounds best…
I’ve long recognized my tuners only get me in the close neighborhood of what sounds perfect, my ears do the rest… My guitars are also routinely adjusted for intonation and fret leveling every year or so…

Dopo aver usato, per un bel po’, le app gratuite per accordare la chitarra ho preso questo accordatore.
Disponibile in due versioni di cui una più economica e una meno, vi consiglio quella polifonica e quindi meno economica perchè vi permette con una plettrata di vedere com’è l’accordatura di tutte e 6 le corde contemporaneamente. Ottimo prodotto, da avere!

He probado bastantes afinadores de pinza, desde los modelos más baratos a este tipo de modelos. Hace tiempo que descarté los más baratos ya que la precisión que tienen en bastante mala y a veces no captan bien la cuerda que estás tocando (depende de la cuerda). Habitualmente utilizo este tipo de afinadores para guitarras eléctricas, y ahà es donde suele venir el problema que comentaba con los afinadores más baratos, ya que captan mejor las vibraciones y el sonido en guitarras acústicas, pero cuesta mucho que lo cojan en las eléctricas (no tengo claro el motivo).
Con este afinador he dejado de tener problemas con las guitarras eléctricas, ya que capta a la perfección todas las cuerdas en la afinación que sea. El display es muy bueno y presenta la información de forma muy visual.
Adicionalmente este modelo trae afinador polifónico, lo cual te permite rasgar todas las cuerdas de tu guitarra y ver cual está desafinada, cosa que es muy útil cuando tienes guitarras con puente flotante ya que al afinar una cuerda cambias la tensión del resto, y con este afinador tienes una visión global de lo que está pasando en todas ellas.
Tiene función para establecer las afinaciones tÃpicas en guitarra (Standard, Half step down, Standard D, etc…), y posibilidad de cambiar entre modo aguja y modo estroboscópico para la visualización.
Para mi el mejor afinador de pinza del mercado, habiéndolo comparado con otros de precio similar de otras marcas (por ejemplo el de Korg), la precisión y funcionalidades son claramente superiores.

This is simply the best clip-on tuner I have ever used! I have used Korg AW-1 clip-on tuner for the longest time but its display was always hard to read. Last year, I “upgraded” to D’Addario PW-CT-12 clip on tuner. While I loved the size and that I can just leave it on, it has been challenging to get that final cent adjustment due to the display. I always end up tuning by ear after that. It also struggles to pick up dropped tuning with my acoustic guitar (low string down to B-flat). Now, come TC Electronic Polytune! Wow, I love how I can tune in the last fractions of cents so quickly! I have never been so happy with the first round 1-minute tuning result. Comes out perfect every time. One caveat is the sturdy but tight and small clip. It barely fits my guitar headstocks and I would not leave it on.
Tuner performance easily outweighs the con. This tuner is highly recommended for discerning players looking for precision.
Unfortunately, I’m taking 1 star off for receiving an open used, missing box top, sold as new, and $20 over MSRP…. Not the product fault…

I’ve use the Polytune on my steel string Levin acoustic guitar. It has a very bright display and is quick to use as it “catches” the note and holds it steadily as you tune, and if you strum the open strings it indicates which strings need attention.
The display adjusts to remain upright whether it’s clipped to the the back or the front of the of the tuning head – I find it more convenient at the back.
I used to use the much cheaper Fishman FT2 tuner which is just as accurate, but the display is not too bright and it’s more fussy to tune the note in. The Polytune black version used to cost about $90, so when the price dropped I bought it. It’s a well made quality item that’s a pleasure to use.
I’ve been using it now most days for 4 months and haven’t needed to change the battery. Occasionally it fails to catch the note and displays the previously tuned string, and sometimes it shows the open strum mode when I’m trying to tune a single string. Damping all the strings and trying again cures this. But otherwise it’s quick to use, very accurate, and appears to be one of the best clip-on tuners.
There seems to be 34 divisions/dots for each whole tone – so from one dot to the next is about 6 cents. So I guess when the tuned in, and all of the dots are green, it’s probably accurate to plus or minus 2 cents, which is pretty accurate. There is a strobe mode which is said to be more accurate but I find it too fussy to use.
The only improvement I’d suggest is a custom setting to adjust the intonation of a single string as the B string needs to be sometimes slightly flattened to sound right.
My comments apply only to home use so I don’t know how well it would perform in noisy environments.
