One thing that really surprised me about this unit is the build quality. The knobs and foot pedal all have a nice premium feel to them. I didn’t expect that for a $200 unit.
Tons of patches that all sound great, plus a looper!
2 minor gripes …
1. No AC adapter provided. Grr
2. No power on / off switch. To turn the unit off / on you plug a guitar cable into the input. This is super strange and a bit annoying.

I was looking for a basic delay/reverb unit to put in the loop of my mixer for practice purposes. Cost was important and I didn’t need a lot of effects. It turns out that this little guy is so good that I am going to use it for recording also. It has lots of good sounding BOSS effects and the software is really good (I have been using the BOSS software for a long time for my SY-300). It takes up a small amount of rare desk space and has convenient on/off switches for preamp (i.e. amp), O/D, delay, reverb and two other FX. I tried the wah effect briefly when I was setting it up and it was cool.

An absolutely wonderful product I had the zoom g1x4 and this is an absolute upgrade. Makes my Les Paul sounds so beautiful. I would absolutely recommend this product to anybody and everybody. I would also recommend watching some of the tutorial videos on YouTube to become a little more familiar with the operations of this device as trying to follow along with the directions in the owner’s manual is a little difficult.

Un multiefectos versátil y de calidad a precio justo para guitarristas principiantes o intermedios, pero que se queda corto para uso profesional.
Sonido:
El modelado de sonidos es realmente muy bueno, con emulaciones estupendas. Los efectos de tiempo (delay, chorus, flanger, phaser, etc.) son excelentes, y los de compresión tampoco desmerecen. Sin embargo, los armonizadores y octavadores no me gustaron: suenan bastante artificiales.
Los efectos de modelado de amplificadores y gabinetes son muy buenos. Yo uso bastante las emulaciones de los Fender Twin Reverb, Bassman y similares, ya sea con ganancia baja para el funk o más alta para el blues-rock y funciona realmente bien. Hay una gama muy amplia de emulaciones: Vox, Orange, Marshall, 5150, Mesa/Boogie y los ajustes de cada amplificador son bastante detallados y fieles al original. También se puede elegir entre un gama bastante decente de gabinetes (1×10″, 2×10″, 2×12″, 4×12″, etc.) Al final se puede lograr un sonido cristalino, limpiecito para el funk o con suficiente ganancia para el blues-rock. No sé si para el Metal y sonidos más pesados sea suficiente porque yo no suelo tocar en esos estilos más cañeros.
Uso:
Cambiar y programar los patches es razonablemente fácil y la interfaz de botones es suficiente. La pantalla monocromática es básica pero ofrece la información necesaria, aunque no se puede apagar, lo que reduce la vida de las baterÃas. La unidad funciona con baterÃas o con un adaptador de corriente (no incluido, y el de Roland está bastante caro). Como no he comprado el eliminador de baterÃas, uso dos juegos de baterÃas recargables, que suelen durar uno o dos dÃas (calculo que unas 4 horas de uso real). Las cambio y pongo a cargar las otras mientras tanto. SerÃa bueno tener más opciones para el ahorro de energÃa.
Comparado con otros:
Comparado con el Boss GT1000 o el Boss GT1000 Core, esta unidad suena un pelitÃn apagada; el procesador COSM se queda corto respecto al nuevo AIRD. Pero esta unidad cuesta la tercera parte de un GT1000 Core. Además, funciona como pedalera con pedal de expresión, súper útil para volumen o wah-wah. Tiene todas las entradas que necesito (aux-in para mis pistas) y salida mono o estéreo. Comparado con el GT1 Pocket, este se lo lleva de calle: el Pocket cuesta lo mismo, suena igual pero es mucho más difÃcil de usar por la interfaz y botones y tiene muchas funcionalidades inútiles (lo de reproducir videos de YouTube desde la app “para aprender” no sirve porque muchos videos no pueden reproducirse). Además, en el Boss GT1 Pocket me falló el jack de salida y no se oye un canal: será pisapapeles hasta que lo lleve a arreglar 😤.
En vivo:
Lo he usado en vivo y ha funcionado súper bien: lo conecto directo a la consola y listo. Tiene un ajuste para elegir si lo vas a mandar directo a audÃfonos, una consola o un amplificador con bocinas, y hay una enorme diferencia al usar el ajuste correcto. En vivo, el uso de baterÃas es excelente porque evita problemas de desconexión (eso sÃ, hay que llevar baterÃas frescas para que no se agoten en el peor momento).
Tamaño, durabilidad y otras funciones:
Aunque la unidad es de plástico, se siente sólida y de buena calidad. No es para uso rudo, pero tiene un buen peso: ni se la lleva el viento ni te duele la espalda al llevarla en el gig-bag, donde, por cierto, cabe un poco justa. No he usado mucho la función de loop, para ser honesto, aunque el afinador está bastante bien.
Me hubiera gustado que tuviera una caja de ritmos o al menos un metrónomo incorporado para practicar. Algunas unidades de menor categorÃa, como la Zoom G1X Four, lo tienen. No es indispensable, pero hubiera sido una buena opción.
Precio:
Quizá lo mejor de esta unidad es el precio. Es un poco más cara que otros procesadores de la misma gama, pero es muchÃsimo más barata que un GT-1000 Core, y ni se diga del GT-1000 completo, que cuesta casi cinco veces lo que este GT1. Y cuesta prácticamente lo mismo que el GT1Pocket pero este GT1 normal es mucho mejor en todos los sentidos, excepto el modelado de sonido que es idéntico porque comparten exactamente el mismo procesador.
Conclusión:
Esta es una unidad muy buena para un guitarrista de alcoba que no quiere gastar mucho y desea tener un buen equipo que pueda llevar a tocadas ocasionales. La calidad del sonido realmente se hace notar, y no hay que olvidar la enorme cantidad de pedales legendarios de Boss (compresores, delays, chorus, flangers, phasers, etc.) cuyo ADN se nota en el GT1. Para guitarristas principiantes o de nivel intermedio es extraordinariamente buena a un precio justo. Para profesionales puede quedarse un poco corta, eso sÃ.

I am a professional touring musician. This is a great compact pedal. I travel by airplane and I can put this in my carry on and it goes under the seat in front of me. There are many really good stock sounds and it is very easy to edit them, if you like. You can also select different output setups. Either select the type of amp or through the effects loop of an amp or direct. I go direct to the PA. I tried the mixer output setting. It was very bright and brittle sounding, I suggest the JC120 amp setting. Play around with it. This pedal is worth every penny, and it doesn’t require many of them.

Amazing pedal for the price. The patches sound great. The best part is the tone software. I can make adjustments on my laptop on the fly. Thats so much better than having to use the knobs and the smaller display. Very easy to dial you sound in. 99 User patches that can be edited or replaced. 99 Preset patches that are always there if needed. It really is a fun, all around pedal for the orice of one stomp box. Also has a looper,tuner and much more!

Great intro level multi-effects pedal. I upgraded after about 8 years from a zoom gt2.1 to this and am pleasantly surprised with how multieffects pedals have improved. This pedal has tons of features for a more power level user such as guitar simulation, tons of preamps, and eq specifications, but also has pretty clear entry level stuff with just overdrive/distortions and some cool fxs. The software is ok and works on my 2015 mac. I will say that it is more convenient to use the software if you plan on making a lot of adjustments compared to the actual pedal. The presets are ok, but like most multi pedals need to be reworked. The downloadable presets from Boss in my opinion are NOT good. There are very few presets available and there is not a community webpage where people can uplaod presets which is unfortunate. Volume pedal seems good and responsive so far after about 3 months, but occassionally does squeak upon pressing it down.
one aesthetic con that annoys me is that there is no off switch. I dont want to leave my pedal on all the time so i constantly have to unplug the power source from the pedal which is annoying. Also looper function is not super convenient, but is still nice to have. Compared to my old zoom pedal this does not have any drum machine function, but does allow you change the order that the effects are arranged in (i.e. can change the order so that its OD -> FX1 -> guitar or FX1 -> OD -> guitar)
Overall 4 stars because of some minor annoyances and problems, but very sturyd, well designed pedal with tons of options for the price. Not a super expensive multi effects pedals but has all the options you could ever want and need for a live show. Also battery usage is convenient.

Pretty amazing for what it cost. It is user friendly. I have not been able to get the “country twang” I’m looking for. I wish someone would make a multi just for that. The drives, gains, and distortion are very good, as well as other effects. I have not been online yet. My pedal eats batteries. They last about an hour. You definitely need to get a 9 volt with at least .75 amps… negative tip power supply. Of course Boss wants you to buy theirs. I bought a generic for about 10. If you like drive, gain, and distortion I think you will love this pedal. And of course what you are running it into is everything. Overall I’m pleased and do not regret this purchase. If it had an equalizer it would be amazing. But for the cost …..wow, wow,wow.
1/3/2023 It does have two equalizers, but three band. Took me awhile to find them. Gonna buy another one.

I’ve had this boss gt-1 for a month now, and i guess I could say.. The quality is great! No issues with it whatsoever. The effect processor really brings a bunch of guitar effects to play with! I love the way it sounds through the In-ear plugin. For those who are looking for an effects processor.. This is the real deal! Highly Recommend.

Great pedal, does way more than I know how to use. Very versatile and great sound. Great quality…. now all I have to do is learn how to use it. I do wish it had more options for presetting a desired sound to a specific footswitch, but for now, this will do fine and I can always add an FS7 or something like that when I get proficient enough to use it like that. All I needed was some distortion, and I certainly have that an a whole lot more. Great pedal!

I have a line 6 Helix huge pedal board I have a line 6 pod go and I love them both but they are both lacking in several things such as portability size and ease of use.
This little boss multi effects pedal might be small but it packs a punch it sounds very good connected directly to the audio mixer and it’s easy to use live it has bright LEDs in the best part is that I can use for double a batteries.
It is made out of plastic but it is very resistant and it seems very well built I love it, it also fits on any of my guitar cases.
