Behringer Ultra Tremolo UT300 Effects Pedal

love it, this pedal now has me buying other behringer pedals. Way more sturdy that expected, and yes, the battery is a pain to change, but so are all the rest. I can spare 3 minutes to change a battery now and again

SUMMARY
Makes tremolo sounds without noise for $25. Good bargain pedal, doubtful about the durability and a few minor nits noted below.
I bought it to use on 1 song. Should work for that purpose.

PROS
– Cheap price
– Good sounds and range of sounds
– Form factor (size/shape) is good – doesn’t hog the board, but not so small you step on adjacent pedals stomping it.
– “standard” 9V center positive power supply jack.(same as a boss pedal)

CONS
– Plastic case
– power supply jack on right side can interfere with positioning input patch cord in certain positions.
– pots (controls) feel cheap
– not sure the waveform knob is really required. A better choice might have been just an output level jack although I don’t notice it raising or lowering the volume.

DETAILS
Rate, speed, and waveform adjustment knobs allow for a variety of tremolo sounds. Price is great at $25, case is plastic and that’s a concern for durability. Behringer puts the power supply on the right side, and I don’t like that because it can be in the way of right angle patch cord plugs. The overall form factor (size and shape) is good, the power supply is standard (9v, Center positive), and it makes the sounds it should and doesn’t seem noisy. I can’t complain at $25 but I’d rather see them move the power to the back vertical surface and put this in a metal case. The pots feel kind of cheap to me too. Its not an effect I expect to use a lot, just a few songs. If I fall in love with tremolo and decide I need a more durable unit, I’ll buy a more expensive one from someone else. But for the occasional user, this seems like it can work. I basically like it because its cheap, it works, it doesn’t require any weird power supply plugs or different voltages, it has a standard form factor and it sounds decent.

My downgrade of 1 star is based on my perceived quality and durability of the product. I rather expect that I’m going to step on it one day and its going to crush under my foot or the switch inside will be cheap and not last very long. Time will tell. I’ve recently purchased 3 behringer pedals for effects I don’t use a lot but wanted to use a little. We’ll see how they last.

UPDATE: I’ve had this about a year and a half, although have not used it consistently during that time. It still works, never had any issues when I was using it weekly. The one problem that emerged on this , and both of the other 2 Behringer pedals I bought around the same time is that the back label came off when I pulled these off my pedal board. i.e. the velcro is a lot stronger than the glue bonding the label to the pedal. Find a better glue fellas! Overall I think this is worth it’s relatively low price but probably would buy a better one if this was an effect I wanted to use a lot.

This is a good simple pedal that does exactly what I needed. It does not come with a power cable but it runs on a 9volt which is easy to install. And for the price you can’t go wrong.

It amazes me how a pedal that costs as low as 29 dollars can be just as good if not better than those that cost $100, $200, or more. The Behringer UT 300 is warm, rich, and features a wide tonal spectrum from a mild tremolo effect to one that dominates your sound. I like the rate, wave and depth setting to be at approximately 6’oclock.
Get this pedal!!
When you hear how beautiful it sounds, you may ask yourself why didn’t I buy this pedal before?
Last thought. Prior to purchasing the Berhinger UT 300 Ultra Tremolo Classic, I used a Joyo tremolo. Don’t get me wrong, Joyo makes great pedals, but the Behringer is far superior.
Matter of fact I would prefer the Behringer Tremolo over a Boss Tremolo, MXR, Fender, you name it.
If you don’t grab this pedal, plug it in, strum whatever riff, it be like me telling you about how great icecream is but you have no idea what I’m talking about because you have never tried it.

I needed tremelo for one song…Gimme Shelter. I didn’t feel like forking out lots of money and I have been happy with the few Behringer stomp boxes that I already have so, I took a stab at this one. While I have lots of pedals and multis, my primary set up is guitar>tuner>a/b splitter>route “a”>modded Fender Hot Rod Deville. Route “b” might include compressor, wah, tube overdrive, analog delay, eq and now trem>Fender HRD (or to Egnater or Blackstar, depending upon what tone I am seeking).
