First let me say that this was bought as a gift for nostalgia and decoration.
The only problem I had with this order, was that it was shipped in a bag. A BAG! Thankfully there was minimal damage to the box. The metronome is packed in a paper bag inside the box. So there is no padding during shipping unless it’s packed in a box.
The metronome is gorgeous! The key is stored on the bottom, and had has to be threaded onto the post to wind it. The cover had dislodged during shipping, but went back on easily. Truly a gorgeous piece.

I love these metronomes, because the pendulum lets you anticipate the beats. I miss having a bell to count fours etc. The plastic is good enough but it makes the metronome seem a bit cheap (There’s a clicky quality to the sound it makes which would be more natural with the wooden case).

Great quality, Wittner metronome.
Not wood, but affordable quality piece for everyone.
Looks beautiful and the metronome works wonderfully. Highly recommended!
Wonderful gift.

This is the metronome to have for all musicians. Honestly I bought this as a basic metronome and for its aesthetic appearance. No bells and whistles but it does what a metronome should do and Wittner are the top company. It works well, it’s built well, simple to use and looks great. I haven’t tested it against a digital click but it’s just for helping me keep basic time and it looks great sat on the piano. Well worth the money to have a Wittner clicking away while you play.

Easy to use great help with timing when practicing

Haven’t tested it against a source of truth, but seems accurate. Kind of loud when playing nylon string guitar, would definitely be audible through other instruments. You do need to wind it up a little more frequently than I expected, and it does slow down just before you need to, but that’s the price of never changing batteries, I guess.
I sometimes think of getting a digital metronome plus tuner to attach to my music stand — this does need to sit on a level surface, and doesn’t have volume control. That said, I feel like there’s something fun about having a whole practice session without any electronics involved. It just makes me feel good. I’m a nerd, what can I say.
Bonus points: totally matches my apartment aesthetics, lol.

Wittner metronomes are the best metronomes available. I’m a piano teacher and have used only Wittner metronomes throughout my lifetime. I taught for nearly fifty years and regard this instrument highly accurate and well constructed.

Works just fine. Don’t ezpect any craftsmanship as it’s all plastic with no wood. My bad for expecting anything different. It’ll keep you honest time wise.

I got this Wittner metronome to replace an old Seth Thomas I picked up off e-bay but was never happy with. A full windup only powered the thing for 3-4 minutes and as it unwound the BPM timing slowed down. I don’t like the sounds produced with the electronic metronomes but they are easier to travel with. This Wittner has a nice, hollow, wooden sounding ‘tock – tock’ and I’m not sure if it ever unwinds as it’s been going stong for over 45 minutes on one windup! It’s BPM is right on and doesn’t waver. I don’t know where the negative reviews of ‘cheap plastic reproduction’ come from? This instrument is solidly built and looks great. I’d prefer a solid cover rather than the see-thru plastic, but that’s trivial. At half the price of the 801K wooden veneered plastic (they evidently don’t make 100% solid wood ones anymore,) these are a great bargain which I would recommend. I know my music teacher is going to be happy that I’m finally using a metronome regularly.

The mechanical works of this instrument is an art of engineering that’s seldomly appreciated in a ‘Replacement-Rather Than Repair’ based economic strategy. Also, electronic metronomes do not have the accuracy comparable to the natural physics of a pendulum driven device… AND there’s the comparison of ‘German Engineering vs Chinese Junk’. The difference in the Quality Annuities is well worth every single cent; you will not be disappointed!
