This is the second time we have purchased this basketball. My son plays a lot of basketball, and this is the best indoor/outdoor ball he has ever used. Good feel, and the first one lasted almost a year before it started losing air but the ball still was in good shape. It may have been over inflated, and if that’s the case, he likely could have gotten another 6-9 months out if it.

The texture and the grip are great, but filled to recommended psi and even above, the ball just doesn’t bounce quite right. It still a good ball for it’s price though, however if you are getting this to ball on an indoor wood court, I wouldn’t suggest it. It is good for an outside ball on concrete.

I recently retired from a long career in education where I spent all my time and energy within the confines of school buildings and under tons of artificial florescent lighting. Remembering way back when to my high school and college days when I could run and jump and play ball for hours on end, I decided I’d get out of my post retirement honeymoon funk, and go outside and start playing and living life again! First, I dusted off and fixed up my bike and started riding in the great outdoors (albeit our crazy neighborhood), breezing through real fresh air and the awakening morning sun (and sometimes blazing hot late summer morning sun, too). And as I was getting a low impact, full-body workout, the sunlight began its good work by penetrating and reviving my institutionally exhausted cells all over again. Shortly thereafter, I discovered a new park that had a decent full-sized basketball court…and it got me thinking…if I can still ride a bike, maybe I can still shoot a basketball.
Moving ahead…after many biking adventures and wonderful solo basketball sessions on the outdoor court in the fresh morning air and sun, I’d say that this ball is an excellent choice, and it delivers! It’s not a cheap rubber playground ball that bounces in all sorts of unwanted directions, and it’s not an expensive leather ball that could get ruined on a paved surface. It’s holding its ground, bounces and responds like an indoor ball, and it’s not getting all scuffed up even after it travels through the dirt around the court (yeah, I miss a bunch of shots, too). It’s an excellent ball for my purposes, and watching it swish through the hoop, it’s just like riding a bicycle again – you never forget!
So, get one of these basketballs, turn off the iPad and TV, and like my mother always said, “Go outside and play!” At 64, I still say, “Yes, ma’am!”

By no means, this is a professional grade ball but it holds up well and it doesn’t hurt that it looks a little different than the usual brown and black basketballs. Will buy again.
