Beautiful Dress and my daughter loves it. I love the accessories. The dress does light up, but beware that there are no instructions in the box or on the box. I found the instructions in the photos for the product listed on its Amazon page. The lights are in a tiny pocket hidden under one of the underlying skirts at the back of the dress. Once you take them out, you do have to string the lights and that wasn’t too hard for me at least. There are white button-like attachments to one of the underskirts that you string them around. You remove a white paper insert from the light box to get it started. There is a tiny button on the side of the light box that turns the lights on. There is a mode for blinking lights and one for non-blinking light so that’s neat. Overall, the product is great but without looking at the photos in the product’s description, I can see why some would think the dress doesn’t light up as the string of lights are wound up and hidden and the product is sent without instructions.
I read the reviews before purchasing about ordering a size bigger. This is not true. Order your original size. I will have to order another because it is really cute. –
So my daughter LOVES this dress and the accessories. She loves that both the dress and the headband light up. It fit true to size (my daughter is a tall 7 year old so we ordered the 7/8…it pulled over her head just fine and I didn’t have to hem it). What was odd, and the reason for 4 stars, is that it does not come with any directions. If you look at the side of the dress, near the waist, you will see a small pink-ish bag between the layers of dress. That’s where the light box and lights are for the dress. Once you unwind the lights work your way around the dress, wrapping the light wire once or twice around the white posts that are on outer part of the inside layer of the dress. There’s enough wire/lights to go completely around the dress. The battery pack on the headband and the dress have that protector tab in it so you need to remove the paper by the tab before turning on so it’ll work. So far we’ve used the costume for close to 3 hours and the lights are still going strong.

Loved the product. I did take the filament lighting out because a two year old was wearing the dress. However, before I took the lights out, we turned them on. It was so cute. This dress fit the two year old perfect. All the accessories were of good quality. Good value for the money. Good quality material and no chemical smells.

The dress is beautiful. The package comes with a braid that also lights up. Included is some other items. The reason for the three stars is that the wire is potential hazard for a child. It may come loose and I don’t know if water safe. I didn’t know I would have to put it together. The dress is pretty with or without. I purchased for its unique ability to light up. It’s still worth it and I would purchase again.
