I’m not sure if this will actually help with SAD, since I often don’t suffer from it. I really like that it has a battery instead of being plugged in to use. Wanted this to help with getting “morning” light shortly after waking up. The timer is useful. I place it on my treadmill stand while doing my morning exercises.

I’m new to light therapy, and I feel more energized throughout the day than I have in years. As in, I actually have the energy to get things done without feeling like I’m pushing a huge stone uphill all day or just not getting things done at all. I can’t overstate how important this has been.
The best part about this particular lamp by far is the fact that it’s rechargeable. I’m surprised this isn’t the case with all of these lamps. I’m returning the previous set because there was no true portability without a power source really close by. Those cords weren’t long enough to easily plug into walls. You could plug the USBs into a computer but who wants to drag a laptop around just to make their lamps work?
With these new lamps, I can place them nearby my bedstand and they help me wake up. I keep them there for awhile so it feels like I’m charging my own internal battery, so to speak. You can also set a timer so they turn on automatically in 6, 7, or 8 hours.
One thing I wish was different about all of these lamps is that the buttons should be on the back of the devices. It’s a little jarring when you turn them on unless you cover the light. Also fyi it only has settings for brightness, not color/tone, but I don’t have a need for that with these lamps.

This product was a really pleasant surprise. When I opened it I wasn’t expecting such a small item and had my reservations. From the moment that I turned it on, I was impressed. There are handy features such as the timer and alarm that are included, but the brightness is what’s really the prize. It’s bright on the first setting, it’s illuminating beyond expectation by the third.

Overall I like this lamp. It’s the size of a small tablet but it’s incredibly bright and I like that it has built in timers. The only downside is it will not hold a charge whatsoever. I can take it off the charger at full battery and it will die usually at the 20-25 minute mark in my 30 minute session. It’s super frustrating and I usually have to leave it plugged in if I want to use it for the full 30 minutes.

Love that it’s portable – that’s why chose this one. But hoped it would be maybe 20% lighter than it is for suitcase travel. I would not mind recharging more often. As it is the battery lasts well but for me I’d rather at most a 1 or 2 day use charge and have it be lighter (less weight). I like to use 10,000 lumens for 15 min. or 20 at the most. The lowest timer this one has is 30 min so I have to use that or turn off manually. The light is good, really nice and bright.

This time of year, especially in Ohio, it seems that there is little to no sunshine. The skies are gray and dreary and it certainly can affect my mood. I depend on vitamin D to improve my attitude. Without the sun out to provide that much needed vitamin I rely on other methods. I actually hate taking pills so this light therapy lamp has been a great alternative to get the needed vitamin. It recreates natural sunlight by using LED lights. This in turn improves my mood. The lamp is simple to use.. There are 3 brightness levels and also 3 timing modes – 10, 20 and 30 minute timers. The lamp angle can be adjusted as you need. It’s lightweight, making it convenient to move from the office to my home in the bedroom, living area or to a hotel. There are no noises while it operates. I started using it once a week for 10 minute sessions and now use it 3 times a week for 30 minute sessions. I’m happy to be rid of the winter blues.

The documentation (little that there is) that comes with the light says the battery lasts for between 3.5 – 11 hours depending on the brightness selected (this is different than what is listed on the Amazon page). This would seem to imply that the highest setting (10,000 lux) should be able to be used for at least 3.5 hours. I received the light and fully charged it before use but after that was only able to use it for 2 days at 10,000 lux for 30 minutes each day before it wouldn’t stay on for the next day and the battery displayed it was at its lowest.
I am going to fully charge it again to see if it will still only last 1 hour total but will probably be returning this device.
They are advertising this light as a SAD therapy device and all recommendations I have heard for that require a 10,000 lux light. Claiming a 3.5 – 11 hour battery life but only providing 1 hour at the recommended brightness is useless. You might as well just buy a light that requires being plugged in all the time if you have to charge this device constantly.
Additionally, they claim you can adjust the opening angle of the stand but it doesn’t really stay standing upright if you try to put the stand at any degree of opening other than the fully open position. It doesn’t lock in place at any position other than fully open or closed.
I am very unimpressed with the quality of this light.

I bought to use in hospital – 12 days in an interior ward with no windows! It is so light and portable. I am so glad I bought the cordless version. Hospital rooms often have plugs in strange places. I have a long USB cord that stretches anywhere, I can charge it and then take it with me whenever. It is lightweight and quite sturdy. Just needs a proper, stiff on/off switch. It turns on in the drawer by accident very easily. A great choice!

When I bought a SAD lamp in 1995, it weighed 20 lbs and made a lot of heat. I paid $360 for it, and it’s the best investment I ever made. I still use it every winter. It cured my issues completely. Only real issue was portability (couldn’t toss it in my laptop bag and take it to work).
But 30 years later, this new tech rules.
This may also be the only one of dozens of lookalikes on Amazon that has a battery in it.
The only thing it does not have, is a clock, which would make setting the wake-up timer easier. Currently, you have to set an external timer to accurately set the ‘6-7-8’ timer on this one.
I am a little baffled by how Chinese name their products. ‘Suxio’? That has negative implications in North America and Britain. Still, this thing is super, does what it says. Highly recommended.
