I love that I can track my oxygen use in real time on my iPhone so I can see what is happening while I walk, exercise, or just fix dinner. I have records I can show my pulmonologist, so we can fine tune my care. I compared this with theirs, one on each hand, and results were basically the same so I feel the accuracy Is very good. I am pleased.

took it to doctors appointment with me to have them check it out and its not as accurate as claimed or with as small a margin of error but my doctor said its better than not having one. dont completely trust it. stayed 4-16% off for spo2 and was about 10 bpm slower.
it’s better than using 2 fingers and math, and gives you a vague idea of oxygen level.

The oximeter is probably the equivalent of similar devices at 2X the price. Upon going to the Wellue website I found only more expensive measurement and diagnostic tools ($50 to $250) and not this entry-level product (FS20F), which is probably what sellers refer to as a “loss leader.” Although the FS20F synched up through Bluetooth, it appears that any coherent tracking of a user’s history requires subscription to Welllue’s tracking and cloud services. I think I’ll remember my O and P levels with my own occasional, unrecorded readings of the device.
As for the device, it seems accurate and is easy enough to use. Just several clarifications: 1. You will need to put the oximeter on a finger of the right hand and not the left, unless you plan to read the screen upside-down. 2. You need to press the button to “activate” the device for finger insertion. However, you do not need to re-press the button upon removing your finger as the device will de-activate automatically. 3. Upon de-activation, the power remains on and the batteries will eventually discharge. To preserve battery life (2 AAA’s) simply remove them (the instructions suggest after 30 days). 4. Be patient with inserting the lanyard. (I had success after wetting and winding the loop, which I then inserted in the hole facing me before pulling it out from the hole on top.)
Finally, don’t panic if your reading of the oximeter is closer to 90 than to the recommended 95-100. The guidelines for reading the number, I’m convinced, are overly insistent re the top number; overly alarmist re the bottom.

I have sleep apnea. A sleep test will cost on the order of $250 each. One of the most important pieces of data a sleep study tests for are your levels of blood oxygen (SpO2). I used this pulse oximeter, along with the free app I downloaded on phone to graph my blood oxygen while sleeping. I discovered what no pulmonologist ever told me. My sleep apnea is NOT caused by any blockage in my throat from the tongue pushing back during sleep. Which is the most common cause of sleep apnea, and the default answer of many doctors. Rather, I discovered my sleep apnea is caused by “shallow breathing”.
See I also have inflamed vocal cords called Vocal Cord Dysfunction bought on by acid reflux. Since air has to pass through the vocal cords, the difficulty becomes greater while sleeping. I figured this out by experimenting with different sleep apnea hardware, then taking an overnight pulse oximeter test. I found it odd that wearing mouth guards with tongue depressors (keep tongue from falling back) did not help my SpO2 reading much at all. It was still below 90 pct for up to 30 minutes a night. Ideally you want all your sleep time above 90pct. Also, my overnight sleep apnea test from clinic, and snore noise test revealed I had very little snoring which indicates the tongue is likely not blocking the airway. The CPAP machine never worked for me because my inflamed vocal cords caused pushback from the airflow and I would wake up in the morning feeling nauseous. Plus, CPAP machines are just hard to get used to-period.
I found a study on oxygen concentrators that made me want to give those a try. These machines give you a flow of concentrated oxygen. The amount of airflow is very mild and not even noticeable. I tried different settings, and for me I like 2 liters per minute(note average person breathes 7 liters a minute). At the 2 liter setting I am getting 75pct oxygen (compared to 21pct oxygen that normal room air has). In oxygen therapy more airflow is not necessarily better.
This oxygen rich therapy while using a nose cannula, along with wearing a chinstrap to keep my mouth closed so I breathe in and out my nose only at night, to ensure I was getting the oxygen therapy. My sleep readings now are like a straight line graph of 95 pct SpO2. I never achieved this level, ever! All night it only dipped to below 90pct for 2 seconds which is well within a normal range.
