I’ve never reviewed anything in my life, but I’m so grateful for this product. Our 4 year old has asthma and when his sat read 88 at home, I made sure to bring this pulse ox to the ER with us to compare to the readings and check its accuracy. He looked and sounded fairly well but had been pretty sick the day before, so while I believed his sat might be below 95 I thought maybe our pulse ox was just inaccurate/reading low when it said 88.
This pulse ox consistently read the same sat (+/- 1) as the monitors in the hospital. The heart rate had a little more variance but was still generally within 5bpm of what the hospital monitors read at any given time. The two pictures attached were taken at the exact same time. I’m confident that the 88-89% readings at home were accurate, and I’m grateful that I had this tool available. If I hadn’t, I might not have taken our son to the ER until much later since he didn’t look or sound that bad.
My only complaint is that if it falls even 1ft to the floor, the piece on the back covering the battery compartment always pops off. But I do appreciate that it uses regular AAA batteries and not any smaller button batteries that would be harder to locate/pose more of a risk to our younger kids if ejected.

The oxigenation level varies from 90 to 97\. That can not be right. Must warm up on your finger for about 5 minutes to get anything resembling a possible accurate reading.

This is my second one that I purchased because I find it to be reliable. It varies a degree or two, which is normal for these type of devices. You’re not going to find the same accuracy as you would at the hospital but this one is pretty darn close. I find that with time and use it does tend to get less accurate but for the price, it lasts long enough for me.

If you’re looking for a pulse oximeter, look no further. This product is very accurate and easy to use. The display even flips, (like an iPhone) when you turn it! The only downside is that the battery cover comes off easily.

For checking beats per minute and oxygen saturation levels, this is a great product! If you know anyone naive enough to enroll in “breathwork” classes that claim to increase oxygen levels to improve health while the unlicensed and unqualified “guru” rakes in cash and disclaims everything in the fine print, please recommend they purchase a pulse oximeter and do their own testing to see if there is any increase in oxygen saturation levels as a result of the “breathwork” bullsh*t exercises. My understanding from medical journals is that the practice actually reduces oxygen saturation levels and does the opposite of what those selling “breathwork classes” at unaccredited and unlicensed “academies” offering bogus certifications claim (then disclaim in fine print). Their claims can be tested and if you choose not to do that you are willfully blind and likely won’t pursue legal action before the statute of limitations runs out for pressing criminal charges for fraud or suing in tort or even filing a consumer complaint for a refund with your home state’s attorney general. Dr. Talbot’s product is an inexpensive and simple way to test the claims made by Sacred Breath Academy and others.
