Don’t let the big smile Lacy has on her face fool you. She can be a bear when it comes to a nail trim. The best groomers have walked her back to me with a refund in hand. Vets have had to fully anesthetize her to get it accomplished. My husband and I have been wrestling her with nail file in hand for a year since we rescued her. Peanut butter in one hand from the husband and Dremel in my hand 30 minutes and the job was done!!!!! No bloodshed from either canine or humans. Very little reaction on her part at the start, it was a miracle. We started slow, it only took a few minutes to get her comfortable with the sound and then the vibration. Granted we did not spend a lot of time on each nail. We got them shorter quite quickly and intend to repeat weekly to recede the quick slowly. The product is as advertised, quiet, effective and quality built. My only wish would be that it would be slimmer since I have small hands; however, I understand the need of a larger frame to handle the power and noise insulation. I am very impressed with the results and highly recommend the purchase.

The Dremel PawControl Dog Nail Grinder and Trimmer has been a game-changer for my pet care routine. This tool offers a safe and humane way to keep my dog’s nails trimmed, avoiding the discomfort and stress often associated with traditional clippers. The grinder is designed to gently file down the nails, reducing the risk of cutting too close to the quick.

The device is user-friendly, with adjustable speed settings that allow me to customize the grinding to my dog’s comfort level. It’s also relatively quiet, which is a big plus for my noise-sensitive pup. The ergonomic design makes it easy to hold and maneuver, ensuring a smooth nail-trimming experience.

However, it’s important to note that some dogs may need time to get used to the sensation of grinding. Patience and gradual introduction are key. Also, while the grinder is effective, it might take longer than clipping, especially for dogs with thicker nails.

Overall, the Dremel PawControl Dog Nail Grinder and Trimmer is a fantastic investment for pet owners looking for a stress-free way to maintain their dog’s nail health.

And for a dad joke: Why do dogs dislike computers? They can’t press the “paws” button!

This dremel comes with a clear plastic guard that cover the grinding wheel, preventing nail dust from flying everywhere and allowing you to get a more correct angle when doing your dog’s nails.

The guard prevents about 90% of the airborne dust of a standard dremel. I still wear a facemask, but I’m not bothered by dust if I forget the mask. And less stinky nail dust in my hair!

To be honest, I haven’t read the instructions. Something, something, something about how to get the correct angle when doing your dog’s nails. I just went for it and got a great trim. But, prbly best to read it.

The guard collects dust and needs to be removed and cleaned after use. Removal is easy, but it’s also easy to dump the dust all over yourself. Hold in a paper bag to avoid getting covered with dust. The plastic guard rinses/wipes clean.

This dremel is much lighter and a little thinner than my last one. It makes a huge difference in user comfort. The unit charges quickly and keeps the charge well.

I’ve had Old English sheepdogs since the late 80’s and most if not all, have hated getting their nails done. I started with a guillotine, then switched to clippers. I’ve thought about using a Dremel for a few years and finally took the plunge. I tried it first on my 2 year old. I had her sit beside me while I used it on my own nails. She was curious……I let her touch and sniff it. Then I tried it on one of her nails. To my surprise, she was quite comfortable. After a few play sessions and more nails we eventually finished.

First off, it takes considerably longer than using a traditional tool but the results are so much better. The nails are smooth and since you’re basically sanding rather than cutting, you have much more control.

Because it is much less stressful, I will use it more often which should cut the execution time considerably.

I tried both the sanding disk and a sanding drum. My preference is the sanding disk. I found that when I used the drum sander it was very easy for the long hair to get caught.

The Dremel is very quiet and smooth running. I used it on level 1 and level 2. Level 2 is a bit noisier but it removes material faster. I suggest starting with level-1 while your pet gets used to it.

After one full use, I must say that I’m pleasantly surprised.

As a professional groomer over 10 yrs dremel products have been my go to for grinding nails. The 7700 was ideal but has been discontinued. This works well with grooming small or large dog nails. It has a Variable speed which helps when dogs don’t like noise to put on a lower setting. I prefer the highest setting, putting cotton in both ears to help dampen the noise and I use a diamond tip so it does not get hot and I can get the nails done quicker. It’s comfortable to hold and it comes with USB for charging. Almost as powerful as the older model, but this is a good replacement since the batteries were another expense on the older model. I’m hoping this will last several years.

Works Great, 5yr old puppy was calm during grinding. Very smooth operation. FYI, appears to be fully assembled and ready to go out of the box, however the disk was not tight. Make sure you fully charge (for 3hrs) before first use and at least once every 3mo even when not used to get the most life out of the battery

the only thing my pug (slightly) tolerates! it’s fantastic not having him get as distressed over a nail trim.
before this I used to use a wired dremel to do his nails and this wireless pet version is much easier to use and holds a good charge.

My dog is very picky about his feet. It ran quiet and I was able to do his nails easier than usual. Plenty of power. I have a big dog with thick nails and it worked great.

I have a cane corso, she has thick black nails and hates to get her nails cut. Our vet doesn’t do it at his practice. I’ve had other nail dremel type products, but they were not really effective. I can’t see her quick and I’m always so nervous when i try to cut them and she hates it and doesn’t really cooperate. I used this on its medium speed. She just put her head in my lap and didn’t even pull her feet away. I was done with the whole process in around five minutes. Her toes are happy and I’m happy i have a safe easy way to keep her nails done. I wish I had this product years ago. She’s already nine. Thankful I have found it now. Also the cover kept almost all the nail dust inside it.

The packaging for this product makes it feel like it is used product. There are several pieces and they were all thrown into a rather generic cardboard box. It makes the product feel cheap even though it is one of the more expensive consumer grade nail grinders out there. To go along with this given that there are a number of pieces you would expect some sort of case to hold everything.

The power of the product was great on initial use, the high RPMs the motor puts out is great and makes getting the job done a lot quicker. The only downside to the high RPMs is the additional noise which may scare some dogs.

I hate clipping dog nails, and my dogs hate it as much if not more than me. So I decided to try this. My medium sized dog who is affraid of everything will let me use this on her. It is not too loud, has various speeds, and works pretty quickly. Now my big guy will not let me anywhere near him with this so far lol. . I will keep trying to get him used to it. Overall I am glad I made the purchase, it seems to be a quality product.
